Fillings
The safe removal of an amalgam filling involves taking many precautions not normally taken in conventional dental offices. We place a rubber dam or a similar device called an Isolite to isolate the tooth or the quadrant, which prevents mercury vapor, particles and fragments from coming into contact with oral tissues. To further protect the patient from the inhalation of mercury vapor, we administer clean, medical grade oxygen through a comfortable nasal mask. We utilize high volume suction and mercury filters to minimize mercury release into the air and in-office air purifiers to remove mercury vapor and particulates from the immediate environment. Dr. Jones and the Social Circle Dental team wear protective garments during the procedure.
Resin Composite
Dental practice avoiding the toxicity of amalgam or other metals. His metal-free dental restorations are made of composite resin or porcelain; both are biocompatible materials. Composite resin is a tooth-colored material that is versatile and used for smaller dental fillings. Porcelain is a stain resistant, stronger, more durable material that is natural looking and blends nicely with the smile. We provide porcelain dental crowns and veneers, which can restore the health and beauty of the smile.
Veneers
The process is rather simple, and usually completed in two appointments. On the first appointment, your teeth are prepared, and impressions are taken. They are sent to a quality laboratory, where your veneers are made. When you return for your second appointment, Dr. Jones will temporarily place them, so you can see how they look and feel. If you and the doctor are satisfied, he will permanently bond the veneers to your teeth. Occasionally, adjustments are needed. If the veneers are returned to the laboratory, you will need to come back for a third appointment.
Crowns
A filling is a great solution for repairing a little cavity, but when the cavity is not so little fillings aren't such a great solution. The tooth may be weakened, and it will need to be protected. In some cases, the amount of missing tooth material is too large for a simple filling to recreate the natural shape effectively. In these situations, crowns are needed.

Dentures are one of the most common ways of replacing missing teeth. There are two kinds; complete dentures replace all of the teeth in an arch, and partial dentures replace some of the teeth. We offer both, along with several other options for replacing missing teeth.

Dental Implants
The procedure for placing implants is straightforward and routine, but it is precision work. Dr. Jones works with a trained specialist, who has considerable experience doing implant surgery. If you decide that implants are right for you, he will refer you to the proper surgeon. You will be numbed before the procedure begins, and sedation will be available if you choose. There is very little pain or soreness afterward, but it will take several months for the bone to bond with the implant. After this process is complete, the specialist will refer you back to us.

Porcelain veneers are beautiful, very thin shells that are permanently adhered to the front surfaces of teeth. They are extremely versatile, capable of correcting color, shape, size, or spacing of teeth. In many cases, veneers can even be used to correct the appearance of crooked teeth, allowing the patient to avoid wearing braces. Their thickness is comparable to a fingernail or contact lens, so very little if any enamel needs to be removed in preparation.
