KIRO is a branch station of Entercom Communications that is located in Seattle. Entercom Communications is one of the largest radio broadcasting companies in the United States. The company owns and operates a portfolio of radio stations throughout the country. It operates a number of station operations with leading positions in virtually all of its markets. These markets include Boston; Seattle; Denver; Sacramento, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Kansas City, Mo.; Indianapolis; Milwaukee; New Orleans, La.; Norfolk, Va.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Memphis, Tenn.; Providence, R.I.; Greensboro, S.C.; Madison, Wis.; and Wichita, Kan. Entercom s stations provide many different types of programming from oldies to rock, news and talk to country and jazz to sports. In addition, the company is the exclusive radio broadcaster of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Sabres and numerous major college sports teams. KIRO employs nearly 150 people at its facility in Seattle.
