Founded in 1985, The Council For Jews With Special Needs is a nonprofit organization providing programs, supports and resources to help all Jews with disabilities. Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., it offers customers a wide range of programs/services, such as support for inclusion in religious schools/Jewish camps, social groups for teens/adults with significant disabilities, Simchat Shabbat services, education forums and speakers bureau/community education. In addition, the organization provides family support groups/activities, information/referral services, sign language interpreters, newsletters and adult residential services. It serves local Jewish schools, camps, synagogues and other Jewish community organizations.
