I just wrote a review. What happened to it. So here we go again. A few years ago, I purchased a chair and a half (with ottoman) for up around the $1800.00 area. I loved it, so I thought. I even got to chose the material of my liking. First, let me tell you that there are NO children who live in this home and almost all of my furniture is of high end quality. After having the chair for a few years, it was almost never sat in, less than a handful of times did it get used. Well my mom got sick and the Hospice nurses tended to her and would use the chair. They were never rough with it and they were thin to medium build (that should not make a difference). Well after a short time, I found some broken black plastic pieces on the floor around the chair. I had no idea what they were. Shortly thereafter, the inside of the chair started to sink in. I called Thomasville and I was about a month over my warranty (big deal). They knew what they sold me was no good. They honored my request to have it repaired. I was appalled to think they used some cheap plastic springs (like a child's toy) to hold this chair up. A man was sent to my home and saw the "hole" in the chair but he also knew that the rest of this chair was barely ever used as it was in perfect condition. He told me that the cushion a person would sit on was flat and he was not happy with the poor quality of the back cushion. This very cordial and helpful man had someone call me and make arrangements to come and pick it up, and bring me a loaner for the Hospice nurses. When I spoke with the girl at the repair shop, she was very kind. When I asked about the replacement of the foam that is used for new cushions she explained that I was a little over the warranty and there would be a charge. I agreed and paid over $200.00 for the pieces of foam. I just wanted my char fixed and my mom was at the end of her life at this time so I just told her "fine". I explained that I wanted very firm top quality new cushions. Okay, here it is about 2 - 3 months later and the chair looks worse than it did before it was sent out. The new so-called springs have not given way (yet) and hopefully they are no longer made from plastic. As for the cushions... WHAT A MESS. Even the few pieces of furniture that I have of a much lower grade are in great shape and look nothing like this monstrosity. I will call Thomasville again and ask them to "come and get it" and bring me a loaner. I hope they are not going to charge me over $200.00 again, just for some foam, I loved this chair but now I hate it. It was not worth the money I paid nor would I ever recommend this chair to any other potential buyers. It was the most expensive piece of junk that I ever purchased. I am truly disappointed with the poor workmanship. This has been nothing less than a nightmare.
