Nancy Dunn Estate Sales

Nightmare-Nancy Dunn, her assistant, her nephew-lawyer, her Liquidator operate system to fleece unsuspecting persons.

Prior to Sale, her assistant searched my home, discovered value items.Friends watched him fill his car. End of Sale, Ms Dunn's nephew-lawyer arrived, spoke of his credentials&connection to Ms Dunn. Both ignored Sheriff's advice to provide list of sold items. Ms Dunn charged huge fee for 3small signs.

Before writing my check for Sale proceeds, Ms Dunn deducted false charges &refused to show info for charges for 3 months until attorney asked Dunn's nephew-lawyer 4th member of Dunn's team =her truck driver who acts as Liquidator & delivers unsold items to MsDunn's Consignment Shop. She reneged on offer for Liquidator, refused to pay his fee of $500, he wanted me to pay fee. Prior to Sale, assistant nailed holes in every wall to display clothes. Ms Dunn refused to repair damages, left huge amount personal trash.

Warning-Never deal with this group of charlatans.

Nancy held a sale for me yesterday. Unfortunately, I should have followed the recommendations of other reviewers and not hired her. Prior to the sale we discussed prices for the large furniture items and said that she would not lower her price until the last hour of the sale. Reality is that within the first hour she dropped the price for one of the large items by $200. Another major item was held for over an hour during prime selling time and she explained at the end of the day that the buyer called her to say that she did not want the item. That item ended up selling for half of the asking price during the last hour of the sale. One of my sale items was used to hold her paperwork and serve as her desk during the sale. Consequently, customers were unaware that the item was for sale. Nancy does not use a cash register and provides you with no receipts or cash register tape. There is no accounting of her sales. She told me that there would be 3 total staff and they would be spread throughout the house to monitor the buyers. The fact is that there were only 2, Nancy and one helper. When we walked in during the last hour of the sale, she and her helper were both sitting on the sofa with customers throughout the house. Her signage on the road was minimal at best and I believe contributed to the poor traffic at my sale. When I first met her, she had numerous excuses explaining why other sales did not bring in good money. I had to ask for the name and phone number of the promised liquidator. After speaking with him on the phone, he said that he would call that evening to confirm the day and time that he would come to remove the remaining items and clean up the unit. He never called. Nancy left the house in a major state of disarray with empty water bottles, boxes and trash thrown all over the house

Nancy and her group of cronies think they can disrespect other people and their property without repercussion. A woman I rent a space from was moving. Nancy's team took my brand new pop-up tent without permission and set it up to use for the estate sale. At first I tried to be accommodating by telling them they could use it but to please not leave it out overnight because of an approaching storm. They failed to comply with my simple request and left it out to get ruined! Not only did they leave it out during the rain and wind but after the sale was over they didn't even have the decency to take the tent back down and put it back where they found it. Probably because they were too worried about trying to steal from my landlord after agreeing on 30% they try to up the percent day of sale and make you sign a waiver allowing them to keep all unsold merchandise. You would be better off setting your stuff on fire then letting these thieves come and disrespect you. Now I'm out a hundred dollars for the pop- up and was not even involved in the sale. After numerous phone calls and messages left unreturned they laugh in my face as they have not a moral conscience or one decent bone in their bodies. For this I plead to you donate your belongings to goodwill before you call Dunn the tax write-off will be much greater than the felling in your gut that someone just took advantage of you that you get when she leaves your property with your money leaving you to clean up her mess.
