Vaughn's Transmission

I brought them my trans from my 1965 Barracuda. Being a manuel I thought it would be rather simple. When I installed it back in the car it leaked oil from the front bearing retainer. so I returned with the car to show them..then removed it for them to repair it again.. after 4 trys they could not get it right... filed a complaint with BAR. I finally took it somewhere else after Vaughans refused to stand behind their work. THe other trans shop told me that the rear bearing retainer had been installed wrong and that the bearing had ruined the case, the trans was not rebuilt and worn out.. I tried one last time to see if Vaughn's would stand behind their work with no success.. being hung up on. I would never use this shop again. In my opinion they lie, didn't rebuild my trans and took my money... some of which I paid cash...$500 cash... another $1000 was documented......however they did nearly $2500 in damage and my classic car now has a trans that is not the original that it came with from the factory....not good...

So my Honda Odyssey trans started slipping around 168k miles and I stopped at Vaughn's and talked with the owner Dylan who gave me a very reasonable price to rebuild it. I dropped it off to him on a Wednesday around noon and he had it finished in 2 days and gave me a generous 2 year warranty period. This family owned shop is very courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to get you back on the road. I have put about 800 miles on the Honda and it feels very strong and fresh. So I will be giving two thumbs way up for Vaughn's Transmission Shop
