        For over 30 years, The Joanne Baron/ D.W. Brown Studio has been teaching the original Meisner Technique, creating the leading Actors, Writers, and Directors in the industry. We have trained and coached the theatrical world's award-winning actors, writers, directors, and producers. Artists such as Halle Berry, Robin Wright, Jeff Goldblum, Mariska Hargitay, Patrick Dempsey, Julia Stiles, Sam Raimi, Tom Shadyac, and Martha Coolidge have trained and coached with this studio. The Studio instructs students in this historic Meisner Program which creates emotionally alive actors of depth and imagination. This greatest of training teaches actors who can create vivid and alive behavior illuminating truth. Uniquely, the Joanne Baron/D.W.Brown Studio instructors commit to study in a rigorous teacher training program. Joanne Baron, the Studio's Artistic Director instructs every teacher trainee in the structured and original Meisner material for a minimum of 5 years prior to any training teacher instruction of students. This intensive teacher training separates the level of instruction given at the Joanne Baron/D.W.Brown Studio from other studios. The Studio also facilitates the casting of its talent for television, film, and theater, as they are called upon by casting directors, producers, and directors. The Studio also provides its former students with agent, manager and casting referrals.

        The programs offered at the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio include the Meisner technique training in both long and intensive formats, scene study, cold reading, on-set coaching, private coaching, Master Class, audition technique, speech and voice, and Alexander technique classes with Los Angeles' Premier Alexander Technique Instructor and Baron/Brown alum, Michael Frederick. Special Training schedules may be arranged throughout the actor's training to facilitate the auditioning and working actor.
