That problem, and one of the biggest mistakes made in commercial roofing is to drill and screw through the top of sheet metal sleeper caps when attaching equipment. It's really easy to install with just basic tools: tape measure, hammer and drill gun.

Roof Flashings
Yes. Thatâ€™s one of the great features of our modular, bolt-together design. The system could be completely dismantled and re-installed if desired. So for a major remodel or re-roofing project, the system could actually be taken completely apart and stored elsewhere while the construction takes place. Afterwards, the system could be re-installed. The only items that cannot be re-used are the Base Gaskets and Base Cap Sealing Bolts (both minor and inexpensive parts). Of course, roof flashings may or may not be re-usable depending on a lot of factors.

Insulation
Frames mounted with our Round Post Supports are our most economical option, but have certain limitations. The Round Posts are adjustable to account for insulation thickness and are easily waterproofed with a standard pipe flashing using the caulk-and-band method. However, this frame type does not reduce the moment loads (torque) at the connection points. This means the roof deck and structure below must be strong enough to overcome those loads (e.g. concrete, wide flange beams, etc.).
Caulking
Those types of supports almost always have sheet metal sleeper covers to keep them water tight. But have you ever noticed how the equipment is attached to the top of the sleeper cap? Nine times out of ten they are screwed or lag bolted right through the top of the metal cap. If youâ€™re lucky, thereâ€™s a dab of caulking on the screw head. Thatâ€™s a direct path for water into the roofing system and building interior which leads to headaches nobody wants.
