Window King of Sanford

I had Window King to work on my Roof and they did a bad job, my roof is still leaking, I've calling them at least twice a week to get service,
I have spoken with the owner kenneth Garret, no call back after I ash about my Warranty. Please do not have or call Window King for any projects
you will be disappointed, I do not recommend Window King.

Signed contract back in Feb for work on an 1100SF house to be re-sided starting in March along with paying $2900.00 up front before the start, then another check for $2500.00 a month later and over $700.00 for plywood. Now it's several months later May 14th to be exact and work still is not complete. Furthermore, we were quoted for some basic items that we wanted completed and not covered in contract. We asked for a quote. First item was 175.00 for some wood inside back porch to be replaced, and 425.00 for it to be screened. Ok..The wood was replaced but contractor refused to do the screen for the agreed upon price of 425.00(BOTH agreed upon right in front of his foreman). My wife thinking all was good, only to find out a day later he would not take care of the screen for the original quoted price a check was made for the rest plus doing the extra work. So my wife took the check to revise it to work that was actually completed...Fast forward 24 hrs..So my wife wakes up to a voice message threatening her she better have his check by 3PM, when she tells him she is revising the check for 2195 that we owe, he advised against doing so. He also texted he hoped she was happy because one of his employees was sick and throwing up to get the house finished??? Truly a irresponsible move for a business owner.. WOW last time I checked that has nothing to do with her, they are your employees...Over 2 months to complete an 1100SF home with siding and a back porch? He always had an excuse for not showing up to conduct work; either he had to fire his employees, or other excuses. Update as of this morning 14 May he is stating that the $425 was for the rotted wood he had to replace?? Why weren't we told of this where is the reciept? We bought the OSB plywood for $700, why wouldn't we buy the wood that needed replaced? Now I'll basically call him a liar... This company will never get another dime from me, or anyone I know.
Buyer beware, again terrible contractor!!
Thanks for leaving my wife and I a very bad impression especially on her first attempt to deal with a contractor while I am away!!

Follow-up to Mr Garretts post BELOW..
Again you have just crossed another line in buisness and as a man..So now I'm a "nut case"or is it my wife is "Bi Polar"..Now It's I never gave you $ like every other customer (I'm sure your past customers and potential customers will appreciate that comment, good job and shows your true tarnished caliber), I have given you $2900/$2500/$2195, purchased all the OSB board $700, screws and your saw blade. Got the reciepts and copied checks to prove it.. Bringing materials to the job? Isn't that your job to bring materials the customer pays for? That is so self-indulgent of you, and quite side splitting funny.I hope people can really read between the lines here on your contradiction of the facts. I have given you every check you were entitled to, and if I do/did owe you more where are the reciepts I have asked for several times that you can't/won't produce? This isn't about $ I can easily pay..I do not need to be in the country, ((which is another male chauvinist remark pertaining to my wife by the way,I've been gone for 8 months not 3 months so get it right,)) to know whats going on, my wife tells me everything that has transpired, and along with the nasty messages and voice mails I have seen and heard you leaving on her phone. I can piece things together entirely and accurately, including the one where you said you would do the screen on the porch for around $400.00 but had to get a supply list together. The name calling and you actually cussing her on voicemail. If you want people to know the truth make sure you tell the WHOLE truth, especially when there is voice mail and text proof out there to contridict your story and to back my review above as truthfull and accurate! This is all YOU not your crew or foreman no issues with them..It's ALL YOU!

This guy is a creep and all females should beware!. I contacted the owner Ken for estimate and he calls and ask for a few photos and details. So I text him my project photos and he texts me a photo of himself saying he is single and if I have any single friends he would give me a discount. Never bothered to even reply back after that. Totally inappropriate behaviour

I am very pleased with the roof that was replaced by the workers of The Window King. They came like he said and the job was done to our satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone for your roofing needs. Before the job was finished Mr. Kenneth came out to the job site making sure all was well. It was such a relief when it rained a couple of days after the installment of our roof and I didn't hear any rain coming through the roof in the master bathroom. I was listening and no drips at all. I was happy about that and the colors look good too. Thank you so much.

I was on the fence about replacing my roof on my own with the help of a few buddies to save some money, but Kenneth came out and gave me a quote so low, I couldn't turn it down. Not only did he install all new architectural shingles, but he replaced all my drip edge, repaired some rotten areas, of the roof, replaced all my weathered pipe boots and installed a ridge vent across the entire house. All for just a hair more than it would have costed me to do the shingles alone by myself. No complaints here!

Window Kings were very fast to start and finish fixing my roofing leaks. I called them Thursday and they were finished Friday afternoon! Their price beat other roofers in Sanford. I would recommend them to others!

Great people! Friendly, Fast, Professional from start to finish! Left no trace of all the work they did other than great looking windows that are air tight. The only people to call if you need the best new windows! A++ for customer service!

Just had architectural singles put on today. Great Job and looks beautiful!! Some key points I really appreciated: Answered his phone when called (More than one on his business card), Prompt on quote day and installation day, stays in contact with you to coordinate delivery of materials and general information, brought roof shingle samples to the quote, respectful and bubbly personality, gave price quote of job the same day of the initial quote, workers were courteous and worked hard (with almost no breaks), covered flower beds and A/C unit with tarps prior to scrapping the roof, cleaned area after job and used magnet around perimeter of house and driveway approx 3 times to make sure most nails were picked up, workers showed up on time and introduced themselves prior to working, workers showed me all bad areas on roof prior to fixing, workers only hand nailed shingles (no nail guns used), Kenneth (Owner) does not ask for the total deposit before work is performed, Written Contract detailing all work to be performed, BBB Accreditation, Good Reviews, website with photos of work, and best of all Kenneth gave me a great price quote on my roof. Would use again for future jobs.

Phenominal customer service and quality work. I needed my roof repaired in Carolina Lakes within 24hrs due to a military deployment and Kenneth from Window Kings came to my rescue. Not only did they complete the job but assessed the actual problem with the roof. Whoever put my roof on in 2008 used a gun to install instead of by hand, leaving about 40% of roof not nailed down. Kenneth and his team are absolute professionals that I would highly recommend to anyone, especially within the Carolina Lakes area.

I was searching for someone to repair some damage to my vinyl siding. I had called more than 10 companies before choosing the Window King of Sanford, NC. Not only were they prompt and professional when doing my estimate, but they were the only ones that showed up as promised or even answered the phone. I hired them on the spot and have no regrets. I contacted Kenneth owner of Window King in Sanford NC on a Monday afternoon to speak with him about a garden window for a kitchen remodel that we were preparing to do. He listened as we explained the best we could about what we were attempting to do, he then promptly made an appointment with us for the very next day! Kenneth showed up exactly when he said that he would (even called just prior to his arrival in order to make sure that it was still a convenient time for us). He was prepared with photo's and information about the windows that he used and what the installation would entail. We were surprised that the garden window would be the same great window, made by the same company that we already have throughout our entire home:-)

The space in which we are planning to install the window is currently a doorway. Kenneth didn't miss a beat.... he told us that besides framing out for and installing the window, he would remove the door, frame out the opening, insulate and finish off the exterior of the doorway with siding. We were taken back by the way that he was prepared to go above and beyond in order to make this job as easy for us as possible. But what really surprised us, was the price that he was gave us to do this entire job. Not only was it less than we expected, but it was a much better price than quoted by larger companies that were not interested in doing anything except framing out for the window and installing the window. With the larger companies, the exterior and the remainder of the doorway would have been up to us to do. Not to mention that a couple of window companies didn't even want to set up an appointment for just one window.

Being from the area, Kenneth was able to give us recommendations for other small jobs that we need done. More accurately, not only did he give us the recommendations, he even made the initial contact for us. We are so thankful as we were having a hard time finding companies that were interested in smaller jobs such as the ones that we are requiring service for.

I am thankful that I placed that call to our local small business owner and look forward to getting this window installed and our other projects completed, thanks to the recommendations of Kenneth. I will post again as soon as the project is completed in order to give an update on how things went. If the initial contact/appointment is any indication of the work that Kenneth does, we will be happy home owners and Window King will have very satisfied, loyal customers.
