Child Abuse
Carolyn was on the boards of directors for many years at Hospice of Marin and Audubon Canyon Ranch. She now acts in an advisory capacity for these two and other community organizations as well, including the Marin County Foundation where she serves on the Foundation's Council of Partners. Carolyn joined Greene, Kelley, Tobriner & Farren, the predecessor to Kelley & Farren, in 1983. She is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, wills and trusts for corporations and charitable organizations in northern California.
Trusts
Kelley & Farren represent trustees and beneficiaries in all aspects of trust administration. There are many reasons why a successor trustee is called upon to manage a trust. They include: the death or incapacity of the original creator of the trust, or a trust that by its own terms needs third party management (such as a special needs trust for an incapacitated beneficiary). No matter what kind of trust, or what the reason is for having the successor trustee manage it, the rules are the same. Trustee actions and management of trusts are delineated by statue, and trustees, being fiduciaries, are required to follow these rules.
