Chronic Condition Treatment

Arthritis Treatment
Sporthorse Veterinary Services offers two types of Class 4 laser therapy, the K-laser and the revolutionary regenerative laser or HILT (High Intensity Laser Therapy) Laser. During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. Laser treatment accelerates tissue repair and cell growth which promotes faster healing of injuries (i.e. wounds, tendons, osteoarthritis).
Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Following a thorough lameness exam, Dr. Silverman may recommend a Nuclear Scintigraphy study, also known as a “Bone Scan.” A bone scan will look at the entire skeletal structure of your horse.

X-Ray
Dr. Silverman uses various methods of diagnostic imaging to aid in the treatment of injuries or lameness. Diagnostic imaging uses high-energy modalities which allow the veterinarian to visualize body tissues. The modalities include digital radiography, digital ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear scintigraphy.
