Flooring
In most cases when we embark on a “remove and replace” project, there isn’t a need for any major modifications to the basic kitchen layout. We work around existing layout constraints such as door positions, services, walls/windows etc. We remove the old cabinets, counter tops etc and install new ones in their place. For the typical kitchen, this involves flooring, cabinets, counter tops, some or all appliances, sinks, faucets and often lighting. The project may extend to painting/decorating the space to fully compliment the chosen kitchen style.
Door Installation/Replacement
Framing
A kitchen defines your house; a kitchen’s personality has direct affect to the comfort, feel and value of your house. Most real estate agents will scale the value of your kitchen at around 15% to 20% of the overall value of your house. 20% is a good baseline to aim for when determining what is appropriate to spend for your kitchen cabinets and remodeling. This does not mean that 20% of the value of your house should be allocated for a kitchen renovation project. Some projects require more work than others and spending money on new kitchen cabinets, counter tops and accessories can be an inexpensive way to increase the value of your home. It is prudent to carry a 10% to 15% contingency to allow for unforeseen issues once walls are opened up, such as water damage, mold, poorly done framing and or electrical work.

There are several different types of available flooring materials used in kitchens. Vinyl, engineered wood, ceramic tiles and hardwood flooring to name a few. It is common to have a different floor type in your kitchen from your main floor area, so it may not always be necessary to replace the complete flooring in an open-plan kitchen/dining/living space.

Each time, Dermot was patient in taking us through all of the options, explaining the pros and cons thoughtfully. He sent us drawings and estimates, no fuss, no pressure. He’s a funny guy to boot, so it’s a pleasure to work with him. Dermot took care of all of the details. The carpentry and cabinets are perfect, exceeding even our wildest expectations. His tile guy was amazing, taking ordinary tile and making it into something truly special. The counters and floors are exceptional. The entire time, Dermot was great at letting us know what was happening. In the end, the prices were reasonable and we feel like we got a new kitchen for a steal. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
