A comprehensive, periodic dental care is key to long term dental health. This includes a dental checkup and a professional dental cleaning to remove plaque, calcified build-ups and any irritants from the oral cavity. The teeth are flossed thoroughly and polished to remove any stain, leaving a smoother surface less likely to have tar buildup.

Veneers
Dental veneers contain layers of materials to form a shell-like structure. The shell is then bonded to the existing tooth and will provide a new aesthetic look instantly. Veneers also help protect the tooth from future damage by covering existing cracks or chips. This procedure can be applied to one or many teeth at the same time, resulting in a new custom smile if desired. Similar to bonding, the color will be customized for each patient’s smile and overall appearance. Porcelain is the premium industry standard when building veneers, as this gives the best aesthetic appearance with superior strength and protection.
Crowns
A dental implant is used to replace one missing tooth and is considered permanent. This is a complex procedure and only performed by professionals who are trained in dental implants. The first step is to surgically place the implant directly into the jawbone, which will act as an anchor and provide maximum support. After the implant has formed a stable bond with the bone structure, then an abutment can be attached. The final step is to attach a crown to the abutment. Each step requires healing time that will be determined on a case by case basis. This procedure doesn’t affect the adjacent teeth or structural integrity of the jawbone. The time it takes from start to finish varies by patient, but the average time is 6-9 months. The result is a tooth that looks and functions like a natural tooth.
Bridges
A dental bridge is used to “bridge” the gap caused by one or more missing teeth. They are created by making two or more crowns for the anchoring teeth, which are located next to the gap. The gap is filled by making a fake tooth or teeth called a pontic. This formation allows the mouth to distribute the forces caused by biting down. Benefits of bridges include preventing teeth from shifting, restoring a smile from missing teeth and enhance the overall function of biting and chewing.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is a procedure where a particular type of resin material is used to “bond” to the natural substance of the tooth. After it is applied then a special blue light is used to adhere the material to the tooth. The color is customized, so it blends in with the tooth, giving it a very natural look and feel. This application works great to fix cracked and chipped teeth, or even a small gap. This is perfect for someone who doesn’t need a complete veneer. Sometimes after treatment, the bonded tooth may feel a little sensitive. Rest assured, this sensitivity goes away after a couple of days. The entire bonding process can easily be completed in one visit.

Deep Cleaning
Gum or Periodontal treatment is the treatment and prevention of gum disease. The primary goal of the treatment is to control and minimize the infection. There are several methods for performing a gum or periodontal treatment. Deep cleaning involves removing the plaque by scaling and root planning. Scaling is done by scraping off the tartar from the gum line, while root planning is done by getting rid of the rough spots on the tooth root. Medications may be used along with the deep cleaning treatment. Examples include prescription antimicrobial mouth rinse, antiseptic chip, antibiotic gel, antibiotic microspheres and enzyme suppressants.

It is a restoration technique that replaces the space where one or more teeth have been damaged or removed.
Overdentures
An implant assisted or retained denture is a class of overdenture that is attached to and supported by the implant. It is commonly used for people who don’t have any teeth but still have a jawbone that is strong enough to support the implant. There are special attachments that clip into the dental implant. The implant assisted or retained denture may be used either for the upper or lower jaw. However, it is mostly used for the lower jaw because regular dentures are prone to be unstable at that location.
