Studio Paris Photography

Joseph Stein of Studio Paris Photography has failed to act professionally throughout our entire interaction with him and he has taken our money without providing all of the products that were promised by him. We paid for a Groupon that included the sitting fee, 5 digital copies of professionally retouched photos, and one 16x20 print, two 8x10 prints, and 8 wallet sized prints. We also paid $200 for an additional 10 digital copies of professionally retouched photos.
Mr. Stein was late to the sitting and did not even apologize for being late. When he arrived at the site, he continued to sit in his car for another 10 minutes. Given that this was a late evening outdoor photographic session, being late meant that our time with adequate sunlight was very limited. The entire session was rushed, stressful, and very unprofessional. It was clear he was not concerned with the quality of the photos he was taking.
When I went to select the photos that we wanted from the sitting, he presented me with hundreds of photos that had not even been edited by him first. More than half the photos were blurry, poorly exposed, or otherwise unusable. It was overwhelming to say the least. After an hour of trying to edit out the blurry, overexposed, and underexposed photos, he said I would have to pay for additional digital copies if I wanted more time to select the ones that I wanted. There were not many that I wanted as they were, but Mr. Stein assured me that he could digitally retouch any photo to look the way l wanted it to. He also told me that the photos would be available on his website for our selection for one month, but that I just needed to let him know if we needed more time.
We selected our 15 favorites on his website, but then his site crashed and all of our selections were lost so we had to start over again once he had the site repaired. We made the 15 selections again and asked that some retouching be done on all of them. The retouching should have been very simple for a professional photographer. We simply asked that all 15 photos be the same tone and that he remove the vignetting that was never requested in the first place. We sent these requests several times and it took weeks to a month to get a response from him and when he did respond, the photos were still not fixed. After a month or so we asked for our money back and he refused and said our transaction was complete. The only product he provided was the sitting and the digital copies but those aren't professionally done so we can't even use them to get prints made. I tried to go through remediation, provided by the city, with him but he never responded. Now we are going to small claims court.
