Glacier Hills Elementary, established in 1992, offers academic programs to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school provides four center-based and resource programs for students with learning disabilities; emotional, behavioral and attention deficit disorders; and diabetes. In addition, Glacier Hills Elementary offers speech, language, occupational, physical and music therapies. The school also offers a variety of support services to meet the academic and social needs of the students. It provides special classes, such as academic coach, English Language Learners, enrichment gifted and talented education, reading recovery and Title 1 programs. Glacier Hills Elementary has a student council that includes a secretary, treasurer, vice president and president. The school operates Destination Imagination, one of the largest creativity and problem solving programs for children in the world. It helps children in building lifelong skills, such as problem solving, teamwork and divergent thinking. Glacier Hills Elementary is part of Independent School District 196 and is located in Eagan, Minn.
