Cryotherapy
We use a range of simple to highly sophisticated instrumentation to obtain the best possible cosmetic and functional results. Family Practice
Physician Assistants (PAs) are healthcare providers licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. They perform physical examinations and take patient histories, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret laboratory tests, assist and/or perform in surgery, provide patient education and counseling, and write prescriptions. PAs are qualified by graduation from an accredited physician associate educational program and certified by the National Commission on Certification of PAs. Emergency Care
If you develop bleeding that seems persistent, and soils the dressing, apply firm, steady pressure over the dressing with a gauze for FIFTEEN minutes without lifting the gauze. This is usually adequate treatment. If the bleeding persists, again apply firm pressure for another fifteen minutes. If it is still bleeding, call our office, try to call the doctor, or visit your nearest urgent care, emergency room or family physician.

After an intensive internship in Tallahassee, FL working in dermatology, Eliza attended the University of Maryland Baltimore/AACC collaborative physician assistant program. She graduated with a Masters of Science-Health Science, PA degree with honors, including the 2022 President’s Award for leadership, and a Certificate of Appreciation for her involvement in the University of Maryland Baltimore’s COVID-19 vaccination effort.

The use of indoor tanning beds as well as recreational sun tanning outdoors is also discouraged. Every time you tan, you increase your risk of getting skin cancer, including melanoma. Tanning also causes premature skin aging, like wrinkles and age spots, changes your skin texture, and increases the risk of potentially blinding eye diseases (cataracts and ocular melanoma).

You may remove the dressing as instructed after surgery. You may shower and wash the area as usual. However, do not let the forceful stream of the shower hit the wound directly. After your shower, you can continue to practice the following wound care instructions until you have the sutures removed...
Mohs Surgery
In Mohs surgery, as the cancer is excised, each section is microscopically examined to determine if any cancer cells are still present. If any cells remain, only the cancer cells and as few as possible normal cells next to that area are removed.

Scar Revision
The degree of improvement that can be achieved with scar revision will depend on the severity of your scarring, and the type, size and location of the scar. In some cases, a single technique such as a surgical incision/excision may provide significant improvement; however, a combination of scar revision techniques such as topical treatments, injectable treatments, and surface treatments such as laser resurfacing and dermabrasion may be recommended to achieve the best results.
Laser Resurfacing
This procedure must be scheduled on one of our laser days, as we bring in advanced laser technology on a periodic basis to our clinic. Laser resurfacing sequentially removes layers of the epidermis/dermis, and allows new skin to form. This procedure requires a period of prolonged healing. It can be very painful. The regenerated skin shows significant redness for at least one month and may persist up to 6 months, and must be protected carefully during the healing.
Dermabrasion
Remove deep wrinkles and/or scars. Dermabrasion, Fraxel Re:pair CO2 ablative laser resurfacing, fillers, punch excision/grafting, surgical excision, or a combination of these treatments may be needed.

Atopic dermatitis, or eczema, is a common skin condition that is frequently described as “the itch that rashes.” Intensely itchy patches eventually form. These patches can be widespread or limited to a few areas. Scratching often leads to redness, swelling, cracking, “weeping” of clear fluid, crusting, and scaling of the skin.

Laser and IPL® (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are available in our office. Laser technology is helpful in treating facial veins, birthmarks, pigmented lesions and tattoos. Photo rejuvenation can be done in a series of treatments to help with skin tone, pigmentation and texture. ADC offers the following medical and surgical treatments.
Chemical Peels
Since the ancient Egyptian times of Cleopatra using sour milk soaks (which are actually Lactic acid chemical peels!) to rejuvenate her skin, chemical peels have been used to improve the skin’s appearance. A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin to remove the damaged layer of skin cells, causing it to exfoliate (eventually peel off). In addition to treating acne, peels help remove sun damaged skin, and accelerate the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen and improving the elasticity of the skin. As with any gentle enhancement treatment, best results are obtained with a series of treatments.

Facials are generally given by med-aestheticians who are under the supervision of a dermatologist; this means that they are better directed for specific skin issues. An aesthetician has the skills to address the skin care needs from stress, seasonal changes or even hormones.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is helpful for reducing the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, dull, dry, rough or sun-damaged skin; it can also help treat acne, and even soften some superficial scars including stretch marks.
Psoriasis
About 80% of people living with psoriasis have plaque psoriasis, also called psoriasis vulgaris. Plaque psoriasis causes patches of thick, scaly skin that may be white, silvery, or red. These plaques can develop anywhere on the skin. The most common areas to find plaques are the elbows, knees, lower back, and scalp.
