Dr. Melissa DeWoskin has extensive knowledge on dog and cat behavior, and loves to consult with owners who would like to know how to improve things at home. Nutritional Counseling
Kim received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota. She has been part of the Keller Lake Animal Hospital team since 2002. Her special Veterinary interests include client education in which she is very thorough. She is also a great resource on pet weight loss, and she is known at Keller Lake for her expertise in this area. If you have an overweight pet, Kim will help you guide your pet to a healthy weight! Kim also enjoys working in the lab and assisting with surgeries. Kim is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association.
Comprehensive Examination
For all pets, we recommend coming in for a wellness check-up at least once a year. This will include a full physical exam, which includes checking tooth and gum health. Our team will check the health of your pet from head to tail, and you will be very happy you came to Keller Lake Animal Hospital for service. Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic. It’s best to keep a journal of your pet’s health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Our team can still work with whatever information you have. In some circumstances, our team will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.

Josh completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota while he also worked at the University’s Veterinary Hospital. His veterinary degree was attained from Ross University, and he then interned at Sonora Veterinary Specialists in Arizona. For the last 11 years, Josh has worked as a veterinarian at the Animal Humane Society where he provided medical care and surgical care for animals on their road to a new adoptive home. His special interests include wound care and surgery.

Keller Lake Animal Hospital offers many surgery options for your pets. Our trained veterinarians are available to perform spay and neuter surgeries as well as other general surgery procedures. Pre-anesthetic blood work is required for all surgical procedures. This allows us to make sure there are no underlying conditions that would change or prevent us from doing anesthesia.

Dr. Melissa is a member of the AVMA, MVMA, and AAHA. She has a strong interest in animal behavior and behavior medicine. In 2017, she attended and graduated from the Victoria Stilwell’s Dog Training Academy. She enjoys using what she has learned to make each veterinary experience for her patients as great as it can be.
