Over rated place for locks and not to mention the stylist are overly money hungry. In addition, it's overpriced and going off past reputation of being premier locks place. Not any more.

Hands down my favorite natural hair salon in St. Louis. Everytime I come to town I always make sure to make an appointment with Mekhat. She always takes care of my locs and styles them beautifully. Also the shampoo girl is always on point! I just got my hair done at their new location on Washington & really enjoyed the atmosphere and new environment! I would definitely recommend to all my natural hair folks in the midwest.

After driving by for years, I finally decided to make an appointment. I did and after arriving I was told they did not understand what kind of style I wanted. I explained to the "stylist" I specifially explained to the young lady what I wanted when I made the appointment. They made me feel really uncomfortable going back and forth between each other whispering and discussing who was going to do my hair. I knew it was going to be a bad experience then.After waiting an hour and a half pass my original appointment time, I finally got in a "stylist" chair. The entire time I was sitting she was constantly telling me how she normally does not do this particular style. My hair turned out "good friend kitchen decent" but the price screamed High end Salon!!! I would not recommend anyone to go into NAPPS the salon was dirty and very unwelcoming. The prices are ridiculous and the service very unprofessional. I would give a name of the "stylist" that did my hair but she never introduced herself just talked how she does only cornrolls and locs. I use that word stylist very loosely.

I've been going to have Makhat (sp) to style my hair off and on since 2002 and I've never had a problem with anything other than parking. The last time I went to get my hair twisted, the owner was not there, so another offered to do my hair. Yeah right! She tried to charge me almost $150 more than Makhat quoted me and she told me to go and buy longer and more expensive hair! My hair was always done with the length and brand of hair that Makhat told me to use!!! She wasn't as kind as the stylists normally were until she thought I was actually going to pay her to do it. Needless to say, I didn't have my hair done at Napps that day. I found someone who styled it for $80 less. I would have paid anything had it been quoted by Makhat and she was there.

NAPPS IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO. THE OVERALL ATMOSPHERE IS RELAXING, THE MUSIC IS GREAT, THEY GO OUT THERE WAY TO MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME. THE STAFF IS REALLY FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE. YOU CAN GET COOL CLOTHES AND JEWLERY ALL IN ONE PLACE BEFORE YOU HIT THE TOWN, BUT MOST PEOPLE END UP STAYING BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE BEST HAPPY HOUR STYLE PARTIES ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAYS (6PM-8PM).....HINT(TRY TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME FOR EARLY EVENINGS). THERE IS ALSO A GREAT STAFF OF BARBERS FOR THE GENTLMAN. SO FELLAS ALL THOSE FINE LADIES NEED SOME COMPLEMENTS SO STOP BY, GET CUT, BRAIDED, OR TWISTED, AND THE REST IS UP TO YOU....
