When your pet is approximately one year of age, they will come in for their exam and to have vaccines boostered. We recommend a three-year vaccine protocol for adult pets in accordance with the latest research. Of course, your pet should still come in each year for a comprehensive exam and heartworm test to make sure there are no problems.

We recommend an EKG and a blood profile prior to general anesthesia for your pet. This gives us a picture of the general health of your pet and is designed to pick up problems not evident on an external physical examination. If there is some internal problem that may pose a threat to your pet during anesthesia, we want to know about it before the anesthetic is given, not after!
Kidney Disease Treatment
The problem begins when plaque and tartar are allowed to build up on your pet’s teeth. Plaque harbors the bacteria which can infect gum tissue and the roots of teeth, resulting in disease and tooth loss. Besides the pain from infection, bone and gum loss, and loose or broken teeth, bacteria enter the bloodstream through the large network of blood vessels located near the gums and teeth. Each time a pet with periodontal disease chews, a shower of bacteria enters the bloodstream and spreads to critical internal organs. Recent studies have documented that certain heart, liver and kidney disease are associated with these bacteria.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Preventive diets for dogs and cats, like Purina DH dental diet, can reduce tartar and plaque buildup by 50% or more. Dry foods actually provide very little cleaning action since the pieces of food shatter when chewed, never reaching the gum line where gingivitis and periodontal disease develop. But Purina DH is different. The patented kibble texture allows for greater tooth penetration before the kibble breaks apart. The unique kibble texture provides a mechanical cleaning action, helping to reduce the accumulation of plaque and tarter. It is the most popular home care option, because you don’t have to do anything “to” your pet. You’re giving them a good-tasting food.

Veterinary Surgery
A laser is ideal for a wide variety of surgical procedures for pets. Laser surgery can correct many common conditions such as cysts, tumors, warts and infections that may occur around the eyes, ears, in the mouth, and anywhere on the skin. Specialized internal procedures are also possible. Certain procedures, such as cat declaws and cancer surgery, are so much more humane when performed by laser that we will only perform those procedures with the laser. Our veterinarian will be able to tell you if your pet’s procedure can be performed with a laser.
Laser Surgery
Your pet’s health is as important to us as it is to you. We are pleased to offer laser surgery as an option for safe, comfortable treatment. In many procedures the laser can replace the scalpel and provide a better alternative to traditional surgery.
