Green Valley Mortuary And Cemetary Inc

In January, 2017, our sister-in-law passed away suddenly in Green Valley, Arizona, and her military family made arrangements for a burial service in March at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.. The Green Valley Mortuary and, specifically DIrector Craig Graham, were employed to handle local arrangements, storage for three months and transfer to Arlington Cemetery (usually done at least a week before the funeral, we were told by Arlington Military Services staff. ) My family and at least 60 other individuals traveled from around the USA and Europe to be at the service on time, especially given that bad weather had been predicted. However, late in the evening before the 10:00 a.m. funeral, the guests were informed that Mr. Graham had neglected to transfer the remains in time for the service. (He said it was because of the weather, but the family learned the flights they had been told by Mr. Graham were being used, flew as scheduled.) Furthermore, without consulting the family but inferring to Arlington that he was speaking for them, Mr. Graham canceled the funeral!! Needless to say we were all stunned!! To the credit of Arlington staff, a room was provided for the guests to share memories and the funeral was rescheduled for the next day. Unfortunately, our family members and many of the other guests, for various reasons, were unable to attend. A number of other specific examples of Mr. Graham's negligence and insensitivity in this case, have been carefully documented and will be provided to appropriate parties.
