This is where I got my baby boy Twister, after jumping through unnecessary hoops.

First they wouldn't give him to us because our other dog was "mean" to him.... that was because he was obviously stressed out by all the barking in the shelter where they made him wait for 30+ minutes before he could meet Twister.

Then, since I was so determined to give this puppy a loving home (he had been returned twice to the shelter and my heart breaks just thinking about that) I was able to disrupt my (then) boyfriends day to go get him. He mentions that he has a gf. THEY MAKE HIM BRING HIS GIRLFRIEND. I was not living with him and we were so not ready for marriage. So what do I do? I pick up a friend who pretends to be his gf all for this little dog.

That's not so bad, right? Wrong. Even though he said his "gf" was on the way they said if someone else wanted him then Twister would go to them.

After my friend was at the shelter they had her play with Twist for damn near an hour before doing paperwork.

You guys, we know our other dog and knows he takes a long time to warm up to other dogs. They acted like they knew our dog infinitely better than we possibly could have ever known him (despite being with us for five years at the time). We had plenty of time still left on Christmas break to get them to tolerate each other. We knew he was visibly stressed out by being in a new place with SO MANY dogs barking for such a long time. But we also knew that we wanted to give this new dog a loving home. And guess what? Four years later he is STILL thriving with us and we never once thought to bring this sweet boy back to the shelter. I understand that they want to make sure the dog goes to a good home, but they went about it the entire wrong way.

This place is wonderful. I was able to get two of my dogs fixed here. They really care about the animals. They are so nice and take care of everyone.
