Blackfinn Ameripub - Royal Oak

While the previous review may be great while they were "auditioning" for the soft opening, don't waste your time now that its in full swing. The hostesses could NOT be more incompentant, there were more the 1/2 of the dining tables empty and they were telling people there was a 20-25 minute wait for a table. When I inquired as to why there were people waiting to be seated and a slew of empty tables, there answer was they didn't want to overload the kitchen!!! I had NEVER heard of that excuse before in the 25 years that I have been entertaining clients!!!! It wasn't that they were short staffed for waiters or cooks, but that they COULD NOT deal with more than 6-7 tables at a time. I can't judge the food and neither can 3 other groups of people that walked out because it made absolutely NO SENSE to have people wait 20-25 minutes when there were 6+ tables sitting empty. When we were seated they placed our 1 year old grandson in a traffic lane and when I requested to move to less busy area (still lots of empty tables) the rocket scientist of a hostess would NOT oblige my request. Most GOOD restuarant wouldn't want a child in a traffic lane, in case a tray of hot food passing over him was spilled, HUGH LIABILITY!!!

I then asked for the manager, who told me the same feeble excuse for NOT SEATING CUSTOMERS and I asked him if he EVER went into a restaurant in his life that WOULD NOT seat people because they had so little confidedence in their kitchen staff, and he replied that he had not.



I don't know who's running this place but you need to think long and hard about maintaining the current staff of nitwits that are running the show!!!!!



ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. PRETTY HOSTESSES, BUT DUMB AS A BOX OF ROCKS!!!!!

Disgusted in Royal Oak!!!

I went to a "Soft opening" event at Blackfinn in Royal Oak tonight and I could not be more impressed. First, the food is AMAZING --- and at such a reasonable price. Second, the atmosphere cannot be beat. They have the best set-up for watching games, hanging out with friends, and enjoying a nice time out. This bar is exactly what Royal Oak needs!! I am so happy to have a place like this in my neighborhood!!!!!!
