Mark Jameson Chimney

Mark Jameson Chimney was recommended to us by a real estate
broker when we had to do a minor chimney and fireplace
repair before closing a deal on the sale of our house. I was
very patient with the company since it was referred to me as
a trustworthy and reasonable, and maybe it is, but in almost
three weeks they missed three promised appointments and nothing was
done to address the repair, except a suggestion to wait longer for next available weekday appointment and use another day off from my work. If you stay home all day and don't care if the service will be done when promised - this company is for you, otherwise look elsewhere. It took me a week to get the first appointment on Thursday, for which I took a half day off. Nobody showed up at promised time frame. After I called the office they asked me if I could stay the rest of the day home and wait. I couldn't, then we agreed on Saturday. Late afternoon on Saturday I got a phone call from the contractor that he was running late and won't be able to get anything done as it gets dark too soon. He assured me that he will come next Saturday and will request earlier time frame. On the second Saturday I found out great news that the guy did not inform anyone in the office of the need to reschedule and I was not on the list. This clearly points to a lousy communication and lack of management and responsibility at the company. Proceed at your own risk.

I had Mark Jameson Chimney come inspect and clean my chimney the other day. It hadn't been attended to in years and I was afraid of what he would find. they was punctual, friendly, and professional. they left everything cleaner than he found it and explained everything he was doing. It was pretty interesting to watch and amazing how much soot was up there!
I highly recommend Mark Jameson Chimney, it was flat rate for the cleaning and inspection, and he was here for about an hour. That included him getting up on the roof and inspecting the whole structure. I could tell that he was thorough and knowledgeable, and I'd definitely hire him again

I'll never know how their work was. Got 3 quotes and they were 3x more expensive than the next closest bid. They were going to do a repair and waterproofing, new flue extension, new crown, cap, etc. The company I'm going with explained everything clearly, submitted dozens of references, and is charging 1/3rd the price. BTW, they are doing even more work - including a total rebuild from the roof up of our chimney. Ridiculous quote from MJC.

We called Mark Jameson's company because they are 2 blocks from our home and we wanted to support a local business for our chimney needs. The day of the appointment we waited all day and never received a phone call or a visit. We called the company to find out what was going on and no one answered the phone. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with this company and that we wouldn't have a fire for our Thanksgiving dinner.
