I received my undergraduate training at Bowling Green State University in Ohio as an Exercise Specialist. I began sport-performance training and cardiovascular rehabilitation. After years in the sports training industry, I wanted to further my studies to treat my clients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions. I moved to St. Louis and started a dual degree program at Logan College of Chiropractic, where I finished a second baccalaureate degree in Life Sciences and completed the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree program. During my last year at Logan, I attended a preceptorship program at Chapel, McMurtrie & Bartlett Chiropractic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Clinic.

My chiropractic training was unique in that it included significant clinical training through Chapel, McMurtrie & Bartlett Chiropractic Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Chesterfield, Missouri. Before the preceptorship, I was a clinic leader in the Biofreeze Rehabilitative Center Human Performance Center, making rounds with patients and assisting colleagues in their earlier training. My time with those patients and attending physicians fostered my desire to practice in a multi-disciplinary setting and helped shape how I practice today.
Physical Therapy
I’ve always been passionate about sports and living an active lifestyle. As a high school athlete playing soccer and baseball, I strived for peak performance with constant practicing, lifting weights, and conditioning. However, I never understood the proper lifting mechanics and repeatedly hurt my back and hips. I had the back brace, injections, physical therapy, and yet never understood why. It wasn’t until I received a diagnostic/ biomechanical x-ray and evaluation from a chiropractor (and now mentor) that I began to understand why my back was hurting so much. I began treatment and got a series of adjustments while following the proper exercise prescription. I got better and felt stronger than ever before. This experience had a lasting impression as it inspired me to pursue this career.

Conventional treatments such as rest, immobilization, and medication may help to reduce inflammation that causes nerve compression. We offer our patients additional solutions such as wrist, hand, and elbow joint manipulation, stretching and strengthening exercises, and in some cases, Active Release Technique.
