Whatever good reputation the DSC had in the past was completely wiped out by this year. The new director repeatedly promised good coaches, matches against other clubs and fair assignments of players to teams. We got none of it. At this point, any further “promises” should be evaluated as either an outright lie or fraud. Our “coaches” were inexperienced college kids forced to fulfill their community service requirements by taking on a team, our “season” consisted of 4 games against the other two DSC teams only, and one of the teams was clearly stacked. The schedule was unintelligible and contradictory. Eventually the director stopped associating with parents altogether. Although my son still had a good time which is the whole point of playing the game, he learned no additional skills. If you want your child to excel and enjoy good competition, try the Fort Mill or Lake Wylie league. The C-Rec league with DSC should be canceled until a new program, director and staff can be hired.
