Parkside Diner

We went for breakfast to the Diner and were seated right away,but sad to say were never waited on until about 10 minutes later. Waitresses kept walking past us and looking at us,but never waited on us.Finally one stopped after overhearing my husband when he said, "They could at least bring me a cup of coffee! A group of young men that came in after us were waited on before us,but one could tell they knew the hostess/ Cashier. The hostess/cashier also was busy texting at the register,and eating at the counter in between cashing customers out. Finally after another few minutes the waitress for our table came and took our order. At this time I still didn't receive a place setting. My husband asked for the place setting and she said,we don't have any silverware ready at the moment,which wasn't a big deal,since our breakfast hasn't come yet,but another 20 minutes into it,when it finally did come ,still no silverware was brought to me. We were told to "Enjoy" and off she went. My husband wasn't asked if he wanted another refill on his coffee or if we needed anything else. We shared his fork for a moment laughing in disbelief and the cashier came over and placed a fork down and said to us" You could have said something if you needed anything".I was really annoyed by her statement,since it was their job as a hostess to provide everything when people get seated. We then asked her for ketchup,salt shaker,napkin and another cup of coffee.I have to say breakfast was good,but if you are backed up in the kitchen for whatever reason,why not say something,instead of letting people just sit there. We observed no one walking around with a pot of coffee ,bringing customers their refills,like seen in so many other diners. The service was horrible. We go out to breakfast every sunday,plus we are great tippers 20-25 % always. It bothered me to even leave 15%.Believe me this diner will never be on our list again!
