I came into the restaurant and the staff just stared at me. after a few mintues I was seated and was told that he or someone else would come back to go over specials. after at least 20 minutes of no acknowledgement, a waitress came over to ask if anyone was helping us. We were never given water, bread and waited a very long time for our drinks even after that. We watched while other parties who came in later were served and eating before us. once we did get our appetizer, there was hair on the bread that came with it. the food WAS good, however the service was greatly subpar. no one ever apologized either.

I had a late dinner with a friend about 3 years back at Mamasans. The food was exceptional and the service was the same. I however didn't see the bill, my friend paid so I don't know if this restaurant was overpriced. The decor is very edgy and I would consider it to be industrial. I've always wanted to come back and now I have the chance. My son's birthday is this weekend and we plan on driving an hour just to have dinner at Mamasans. I hope my experience this time will be as good as the last.
Mamasan's was once a nice restaurant in the city, but now they've gone "suburban" (or maybe even SoHo). Decor, price and portions are similiar to what you'd find in Manhattan. Don't expect to take home any leftovers.
