Overall

It is often hard to write a review for a school, such as Covenant, because one isolated incident can taint the experience for a lifetime. Psychologically, we are hard-wired to remember and emphasize negative memories or incidents.

However, I can confidently write that we have had no negative incidents or interactions with this fine place of learning. Our daughter has received excellent care in every way: from curriculum and instruction to potty training support beyond the home, praise from staff and a healthy menu. Most of all, though, it's the SAFE, creative and beautiful environment of the school that is most healthy for the children. Our daughter has prospered at Covenant and I applaud the staff for this achievement, as we have a happy, healthy child, who acutally asks to go to school.

The director is attentive to any concerns, immediately and staff is vastly supportive when a child's individual needs are articulated. I can safely say with full confidence that after two plus years of working with Covenant Schools that any negative review on this site arose from a rare and isolated incident, to be sure. When considering Covenant Schools, you should be prepared to deal with honest, caring and fostering people who will give your child the attention they deserve and treat them as if they were their own all based upon Christian principle of Care in Christ.

My children have attended Cove...

My children have attended Covenant since Summer of '10. My older child graduated from there and had such an amazing experience! She learned so much and was reading before she started Kindergarten this Fall. My younger child is in the Toddler Program and has already learned more than my older child did at the same age, while she attended another local preschool. Both of my girls have had amazing teachers who love them unconditionally!

The staff is friendly and professional, but they know how to relate to the children, making sure each individual child's needs are met. The children love coming to school each day and they really love their teachers... I've even used one to babysit my girls!

I highly recommend Covenant to anyone looking for their children to receive an excellent foundation for their academic lives!

Would recommend

All of my children have gone through Covenant School program and when they left they were academically advanced and well rounded. The teachers worked hard with all of them to see each child as an indiviual and meet their needs. They were prepared for the next school that they moved on to. The environment is clean and safe and in comparison to any other school that i have looked at I was so impressed and thankful that i was able to send my children here. The curriculum that Covenant uses is advanced and interesting for the children. How they teach the lessons is structured but age appropriate and the children recieve such an amazing education.

Overall
Outstanding School.

Covenant is a five star accredited school that puts the needs of your children first. There is a low turn over rate of their faculty. The teachers build strong relationships with the childrens parents in order to better accommodate their needs. The open door policy allows parents to stop by whenever they like to visit and observe with their children.

Working with The A Beka Book program from the Two's classroom to Kindergarten is routinely and repetitive. This can guarantee the level of education to be at a First grade level when leaving the school. The low teacher to student ratio helps to make sure that no child is left behind.

So thankful!

Covenant School has been one of the best things that has come into our lives. Not only has Covenant School given my children a foundation that is irreplacable but it is an environment that every child should have the opportunity to experience. It is a loving, structured environment where the teachers hearts shine thru and overflow into the children's lives. Thank you to Covenant for being a part of my child's life and caring for them in a way that is very rare.

Overall
Poor care for the children, dishonest owners

My son attended this school for 6 months. I was lied to by staff and the director (owners daughter) whose name is Joy Fakes. The turnover in staff is unbelievable, they hire young girls who don't have any experience (talking and texting on their cell phones while kids are on the playground), teachers are not certified (as the director assured me they were). My son was so ill all the time, picking up rare diseases. They left him in a diaper while he had diarreah for an entire afternoon, failing to call me for extra clothes. His sippy cup was constantly mixed up with the other kids, as were his clothes. The list goes on....please tell other parents! They do not meet CYFD standards - teacher to child ration while my son was there was 2 teachers for 24 KIDS!!! I actually had one staff member confide the teacher to staff ratio to me asking me to please report them to the state so that changes could be made. Please pass on so other parents don't have to go through what we went through. The staff are constantly quitting their jobs and complaining about how they are treated. They are in-experienced young people who are not qualified to be working with young children. The director is money hungry and unconcerned about issues you bring to her attention. She will tell you what you want to hear but never follow through. Her assistant is just as un-reliable. The director is never at work, she is hard to get a hold of and will never call you back. This school has a long waiting list and this concerns me. These children are not being taken care of appropriately. Sick kids are everywhere, dirty rooms, and there is absolutely no learning taking place as promised. Very very expensive on top of it all. Please do not recommend and spread the word!

ABEKA curriculum used is not appropriate

The curriculum used at this school is not appropriate for early childhood education. Check NAEYC.org and nmaeyc.org for reccomended schools that have a national accredition. NAEYC also gives information on developmentally appropriate practices. I do not believe Covenant is child centered or appropriate. DO the research. ABEKAs book are expensive. Parents can find the same kind of activity books at costco for 1/10 the price. We (parents) do not pay teachers to tear pages out of a work book and fight with a 2 year old to sit and color a coloring page everyday. How about exploration. How about taking the children's interest and integrating other concepts (ie math, literacy) into them. How about being flexible with the day. I did not see this at this school. High turnover and teachers complain about pay and job.
