The company operates out of two locations, one in Richmond, Va., and another in Columbus, Ohio. Its history dates back to 1987. BEX s founder, PJ Gaier, began a bicycle messenger service called Bike Express. It was known as BEX Couriers until 2005 and is now known as BEX Logistics. A staff of more than 50 employees operates a fleet of delivery equipment. Its fleet includes tractor-trailers, box trucks and vans. BEX Logistics offers services to commercial and private clients in central Virginia and central Ohio.

        Returning home from nearly a decade of teaching international business strategies and tactics overseas, I don't even know how BEX Logistics is still operating.

        The experience from the end-user's standpoint was most unpleasant for me. The day of the appointment to deliver, they called to cancel, claiming truck difficulties: fine. With the appointment resent for the next day, they no-called/no-showed the 4 hour window they had to show up in, then called half an hour later to tell me they were going to be an hour (too little, too...) late. Then, the receptionist tried to tack on re-delivery charges for a delivery that was never attempted in the 4 hours they set!

        Worst receptionist/dispatcher I've ever encountered out of Columbus; an upper-aged dinosaur with no place in a modern business setting. Brings her personal issues into the workplace and fiddles with the customer's scheduling to actually create inconveniences, totaling 12 hours of lost work here.

        Allow this company to die.
