We have two special needs adult children. My wife and daughter take off and have a blast. My son and I cruise through as I push his wheelchair and tell him how everything looks so great. I bring him over to touch the leaves and we have a great time.
The people that work there know us and we are greeted as if we are relatives that come from across the country to visit.
The prices? Close to the same as most other places. The trees are green and watered. Some other farms had trees which were not watered and already drying out. Boo Hiss.
If you get there after the first day open, yes there are still trees that are not reserved. But for the best selection, the early birds gather the fattest and plumpest worms, er, trees.
But please don't arrive before us. I am selfish and want the best tree fro my family.
Have a Great Christmas y'all. May the blessing of God be with you and yours.

It seems in these volatile economic times, when most companies are lowering prices to consumers, the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Farm doesn't mind charging exorbitant fees to it's customers. Yes it's a nice and spacious pumpkin patch, however, the pumpkin prices are outrageous! I just purchased 3 pumpkins from Sprouts Health Food Market in Palm Desert. The total cost for all three pumpkins was only $6.00. The same pumpkins at the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch would have been at least $30.00 and they grow their own pumpkins, which means their cost is very low, however they do not pass that low cost on to the customers.
Boy, they sure do have an array of rides, from bouncers, a pirate shooting game, a corn field maze, a bungee ride, a petting zoo, pony rides, and many more. The cost to do each will blow your mind! Each ticket costs One (1) dollar, but if you spend Two (2) hundred dollars, they will generously give you 40 tickets as a bonus. The bouncers each cost four (4) tickets or four (4) plus. The pirate game is six (6) tickets, or six (6) dollars. Just to walk through their corn maze will set you back five (5) dollars. You can't even enter the petting zoo without paying first. Most petting zoos operate in a capacity in which the customers purchase animal feed and enter the zoo and that's it. They charge you just to enter. On my visit, the owner, David Palmer, is a man of smiles. Now I know why he smiles every time he sees a customers. The dollar signs are going off in his mind!
Let's talk about the Christmas Tree Farm. The simple definition of a farm is a tract of land, usually with a house, barn, silo, etc., on which crops and often livestock are raised for livelihood. To be a farm by definition, the Christmas trees must be grown on the property. They are not! They are shipped in, usually from Oregon, or neighboring states. The trees are cut, then immediately packed with ice. Even though they are preserved, they have begun to die, so the moment they land on your living room floor, they will die very fast, opposed to a fresh cut tree. The interesting thing about this process is the cost to The Christmas Tree Farm. The cost for the trees is very low to them, but again, they do not pass the saving on to the customers, as if they do not make enough money on the other rides, concessions, and various activities they have on the premises. Yes, it costs money to own and run a business, this I am aware of, however, the markup covers cost of goods, wages for employees, land leases, if applicable, insurances, and so forth. Even of you added up all these costs, you would realize the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Farm fares better than you and I and make all their money during two holidays, Halloween and Christmas.
There are many other farms to go to, in my opinion:
A Christmas Tree Farm,Casazza Christmas Tree Farm, Christmas Conifers, Christmas Conifers II, Don Lugo FFA Tree Farm, Enchanted Christmas Trees, Fontana Pines, Greenspot Farms, Northwest Christmas Trees and Pumpkins, The Original Christmas Tree Guy. Try any of these before going to The Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Farm As for the Naysayers of this review visit the farm, spend your money, you will be shocked at how much money you will have to spend just to please your children, and this is all before you spend your money on candy, costumes, and decorations. Memories are a definite, but always at a cost at Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Farm.
