Sciatica
After conducting a thorough examination and evaluating West's condition, Dr. Cassim recommended epidural injections. "These epidural injections, which are administered into the spine, contain a strong anti-inflammatory agent and an anesthetic for pain relief," notes Dr. Cassim. "They are given to relieve pain in the neck, back, arm and leg due to inflammation of spinal nerves from injury and conditions such as spinal stenosis, spondylolysis, herniated disc, degenerative disc and sciatica."

Dr. Fayssoux has authored numerous articles and book chapters related to both the operative and nonoperative management of adult and pediatric spinal conditions. His current research interests include return to golf after back injury and after spinal surgery. He is currently pursuing research with the PGA on these topics. In his spare time, Dr. Fayssoux is a volunteer spine surgeon at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Los Angeles.

Dr. Boghosian is a fellowship-trained and board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in adult primary and revision joint replacement of the hip and knee. He tailors individual treatment plans for all of his patients with the goal of restoring function and relieving pain as quickly and completely as possible to improve quality of life.

A native of our nation's capital, Dr. O'Connell grew up in the Maryland suburbs. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. Most importantly, he gained valuable experience in managing revision cases for patients who have complicated failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Boghosian has used that knowledge and foundation to advance his surgical skills into the arena of robotic surgery. He not only employs robotic surgery for his patients where applicable but also enjoys teaching its application to fellow colleagues.
