We have been getting Peking Garden delivery for the past 8 years with little to no problems. I must say the food is outstanding and actually surprised me tonight. I usually order the same stuff that I'm comfortable with, but tonight I ordered the yellow thai curry grouper. I'm from the north and was always close to the water so to have a seafood item on a Chinese restaurant menu be so good to prompt me to write reviews on Google and Yellow Pages it must be outstanding. For the past year when I call I usually get Stephanie on the phone. She is so very friendly and accommodating when ordering certain items on the menu. She will do anything within reason to make your ordering process smooth. She's very good at making sure you get the item exactly how you want it. She will gladly make substitutions or omitions on menu items. Bottom line this restaurant puts out healthy fresh clean food all the time. Give them a try or a second try if you had a subpar experience. I trust Cody and the staff because I know they take pride and putting out good clean fresh food.

Tried this place because the website said "Fine Dining" and they deliver. I won't be calling this place again & neither will my co-workers with a staff in this office of 60+ employees. The food did arrive on time as promised but cold nothing was warm. The delivery was missing food so you have someone that ordered food & did not receive food that I paid for so I have to eat that cost returning the cash back to the person that did not receive their food. I tried several times calling the restaurant no one answered the phone. Not a busy signal no answer they have caller ID as confirmed when I called to order he confirmed my address. Makes me think they are not answering for a reason. But I'm not on the other end I don't know. So trying to speak with someone to get it resolved didn't happen. This was an expensive lunch for sure. We just popped the food in the microwave it just left me with a dissatisfied impression of customer service.

I am a bit stunned. I always liked Peking Garden years ago. I picked up lunch there today 0 shrimp and lobster sauce lunch portion. What I received was a deep pool of lobster sauce with 5 shrimp and the only vegetables were a portion of a bag of frozen peas & carrots. Can't fool me! I know what frozen cube carrots look like...nothing like typical Chinese restaurant's julienned version. But only maybe 1/2 a cup of the peas and carrots and no other veggies. No mushrooms, as the menu says. And trust me, they were frozen. I asked for brown rice but was given white. Hot and sour soup was good. Proceed at your own risk when doing takeout here. At least when seated and eating there you can fix your order.

I really like this place. I generally have gotten takeout: the sesame chicken and the chicken n broccoli. Both dishes contain chicken that tastes super fresh, homemade and the meat is very tender. Service has always been good. A pleasant experience and excellent food.

Drive by Peking Garden! Don't ...

Drive by Peking Garden! Don't stop. Don't exert energy from car to door with an expectation your Chinese cuisine yearn will meet with satisfaction. I've had the misfortune to eat there a few times and not to my surprise the service just gets worse. THE MALE CASHIER IS ARROGANT AND RUDE. I ordered a carry out of soup, shrimp fried rice and another dish my wife likes. On arrival home I took a shower and entered the kitchen ready to give the Peking Garden another try. NO SOUP! All I wanted was soup. I called and spoke with the surly cashier to learn my soup order was included in the same container with my wife's order. WHAT?!? I just paid $27 dollars and change after a hard days work and all I wanted was my own container of soup. After all that's how I ordered it! That's how I paid for it! Truth is folks, it's not the lack of soup that boiled my blood, it was, the customer service. That male cashier is the worst I've had to deal with in a very, very long time.

Is it still bad service if there is no service?

Well, I wouldn't really know how to rate the food because I was denied the chance to try it! On the website it states that they are open until 10pm & that they deliver. Wrong! I called at 9:45 tonight to order delivery and was told they are already closed! I understand this is late notice, right before closing, but if they say they are open until 10pm, that means they should still be taking orders until 10pm. If they stop taking delivery orders before that time, they should include that information! It's very bad customer service to be losing customers because of false advertising...

Business History
Opening Peking Garden in 1990, making it one of North Raleigh's first Chinese buffets, was a smart move for Cody Tseng. But after watching the Chinese buffets' popularity grow with selections including everything from salad bars to pasta to ice cream, Tseng decided to go back to his roots and serve traditional Chinese dishes.
