Warning!! I am not holding back on what I report, and my niece has granted me permission to tell this.



My niece went to EOMC January 9, 2016 in the afternoon. She was pregnant at the time and waiting in the emergency room with someone else that she transported to the ER who was seeking ER services.



While waiting for the other person to be seen in the ER, she started cramping and went to the ER waiting room bathroom. On the way to the bathroom, she started bleeding. In the bathroom, she realized her pants were covered in blood. She was shocked, and pulled her pants off, and this action caused her to feel a huge material drop from her. She looked down and realized it was a fetus. She yelled for her husband, and relayed what was happening. He ran for a nurse, and when the nurse got to the bathroom, my niece asked her for help. The nurse told her, in a very rude tone, "There is nothing I can do to help you. You need to pick that up and flush it in the toilet." (The nurse pointed to the fetus.) Then she continued, "You need to clean that up and clean yourself up."



My niece was in so much shock, she actually did what the nurse asked and picked it up and flushed it!! She has been traumatized about this every since.



Also, just to make matters worse, she asked the nurse for a gown or something to cover herself with because her pants were ruined with blood, and the nurse told her that the hospital didn't have anything to give her. She had to wrap a jacket around herself, and hold it from behind, as she walked back to her vehicle.



My niece has not had peace since this happened. She said if she sits still for any amount of time, the memory of what happened in that bathroom haunts her and she beats herself up for just flushing.



Her grandmother went to the hospital to report what happened, but has not heard anything back from the hospital about it. I do not have faith that anything will be done about this nurse, and I am sure she is still working at the hospital.



I felt other people should know about this incident. I am sure my niece will never see justice for such a horrible action, but I hope the telling will make people more aware of this facilities lack of compassion.
