Osteoarthritis is one of the more than 120 forms of arthritis which can occur in patients. Osteoarthritis, also known as OA, osteoarthrosis, or degenerative joint disease (DJD), is the type of arthritis that almost everyone develops in their lifetime. It is a form of arthritis that develops gradually, usually occurring sometime after the age of 45. OA is usually chronic in nature but fortunately occurs most frequently as a relatively mild condition. Some patients, however develop more severe symptoms requiring treatment and even joint replacement.

Since her graduation, she has specialized exclusively in Orthopedics. Her experience includes both operative and nonoperative Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Hand Surgery. She is board certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Orthopedic Surgery
While total joint surgery or any type of orthopedic surgery does involve certain risks, it is safe to say that most of these risks are encountered in any major surgical procedure. Careful pre-surgical screening, superior surgical technique, and conscientious post-operative management are the cornerstones to minimizing not only the occurrence of any complications, but certainly the outcome of these risks as well. It is our policy to adhere to these criteria whenever a patient undergoes any operative procedure, and in doing so, keeping these risks to a minimum.

In January of 2018, I had my second hip replacement surgery (my right) after having great results with my first in October 2017. I believe the second one was even easier because I knew exactly what to expect. My recovery is a testament to you and your staff’s unwavering and highly professional skill, support, and kindness. Your office and facility in Broward North is overflowing with an attentive, courteous, and comforting staff who know how to anticipate the needs of their patients. You and your staff were excellent listeners and gave me the strength to recover. I was an ordinary patient but you all took extraordinary care of me and for that I am eternally grateful.
Knee Replacement
The knee is a complicated joint which is made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments, and bones. These components permit it to move in a number of directions enabling us to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and change direction (pivot). Total Knee Replacement is a surgical procedure which involves the replacement of the worn-out parts of the knee with an artificial joint.
