Hertzog Renovations - Painting & Finishing

Chris is a scammer. Chris Hertzog is the worst experiance I have had with a contractor who is supposed to be an expert in painting, repairs, If you do hire him, do not pay any money upfront. A professional contractor will have the money to buy supplies and agree to get paid when the work is completed. His workers were not able to perform the work up to minimun standards. He does not check his emplyees work performance. He will tell you not to worry it will be great when they are done. Do not believe him.
They broke the corners of a very expensice glass coctail table, got paint on the furniture.
He hires undocumented workers, cancels work day with no notice, does not return calls, and walks off the job with your money.
If I could give him a minus 10 I would.
If he gets a 5 star for anything it is failure to tell the truth and not caring about the quality of the work. He is beyond a disappointment. He is a disgrace to the field. He is a premeditated liar, scammer, unprofessional con artist, in my opion.
I am left with unfinished painting, partial repairs, wrong paint and color, damages to personal property and to areas his men were working on, He promised me professional workers and not day workers or untrained workers,
Chris asked me for an additinl $1500 to pay his payroll.
He also works under DESERT LIVING GENERAL CONTRACTING LLC.
That is where I found him.

Chris is a con-summate salesman. Pushy and NOT a listener. Likable to a point. He will be high drama. He has a decent paint crew. I am concerned they are immigrants and more concerned that
because of a hold back for him allowing me to allow hime to use a alternative to taping ceiling cracks ( something several other told me including Chris when he bid the job) but then wanted to caulk using elastimric I wanted a hold back 200 more than we originally agreed for remaining work to be done after remodeling was done. He threatened to walk off and did. I just wonder if he did it at his helps EXPENSE! Shame on him if he didn't pay them. Based on other reviews I am speculating but for 4 more hours and they would have been done and he would have had 1000. My guess is he knew he didn't want to be responsible as the tape was going to cost him 750.00 . He was only concerned about him and his bottom line. not the quality of his work

I wish I could give negative stars. Sloppy workman ship, overspray on windows, new flooring. Walls completly missed. Repair work so bad I wish I could send a picture. Painters denied ruining new flooring. Caught painter standing on top of ladder holding on to ceiling fan, over glass table (Afraid to take picture-didn't want to startle him) Promised 3 day job- took twice that long, the threatened to not pay his painters for the poor job they did. Used crappy paint. So on and so on. Let Home Depot know how bad they were. STAY AWAY!!!!

this guy chris doesnt pay his workers.. if he gives a good price its because he gets his jobs done for free.. screwing workers over

Its sad to see that a company that says it is honest and reliable is getting its labor for free.... Mr hertzog hires people especially illegal immigrants to do his work than ripped them off by not paying them telling this people that the work is not right and fires them without paying them to all his future customers I would like you to think before hiring a company that doesn't have a minimal respect for their employees yet alone the customers.

My wife and I decided to use Hertzog Renovations because they put our needs and concerns first. Not only did we get an outstanding professional paint job, it was done in a timely manner and the customer service was top-notch. I highly recommend this service.

First rate company- I was very pleased with the entire process from this company for the interior & exterior painting of my North Scottsdale home. The Owner was very considerate of my specific needs. His company completed my project on time, his employee's were very polite and efficient. The quality of the work was perfect. I will highly recommend this company to all.

I own and Operate Gergen’s Orthodontic Lab , we had recently purchased building and were having custom made to fit our needs . We need to get this building up to our satisfaction in a hurry and I must tell you Chris Hertzog went about and beyond. They worked around the clock and coordinated with the other contractors to ensure our build out was done on time. Btw way this was no small building. Thank You Mr. Hertzog , I will hire you to do my house in the next few months , when I renovate it . David Gergen

Chris and his crew did a great job painting and renovating my condo. they were clean, friendly, and did the job on time!
