Phenix City Public Works Department has various divisions that offer a wide variety of construction, maintenance, design and procurement services. Its engineering division deals with plan reviews, permitting, inspecting and approving various projects related to paving, drainage systems, and water and sewer infrastructures. Additionally, it builds parks, fields and paths, and plants trees and flowers. The department also offers recycling services for various materials, including newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, paperboard, aluminum cans and glass bottles and jars. Its environmental division s services include disposal of waste products, maintenance of fire hydrant systems, and utility infrastructure construction and engineering projects.
