Serving as a plus-size fashion stylist, Doretta's eye for coordinating timeless pieces of clothing with complimentary accessories and shoes for various clients has made her the go to person in her hometown of Baltimore, MD. Her expertise is reinforced by being a plus-size woman but also throughout her experiences with clients to whom she searches for new and flattering apparel that speaks to their individual fashion sense. It was during one of these styling and personal shopping sessions that Doretta encountered a negative situation where she and her client entered a women's clothing boutique and were immediately told by a salesperson that their size was not carried there. Disgruntled and insulted, this ignited the flame for Doretta to further her styling talents coupled with her love for fashion and start an even bigger business venture. It was on that day she knew it was her duty to further her role in the movement for size acceptance by creating a place for women to shop that embraced the fuller woman. With tremendous help and support from her family, Doretta purchased a storefront, transformed it into a fashion wonderland and in June 2011, Couture Queen was born. Couture Queen is an upscale boutique located in the Parkville section of Baltimore on Harford Road. Showcasing a laundry list of leading plus-size designers in the industry, Couture Queen is an innovative lifestyle boutique for the voluptuous woman. Equipped with an inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable and hospitable staff, and styling consultations right on the premises, Couture Queen caters to private shopping or styling appointments as well as walk-ins. Couture Queen aims to give the plus-size women a personalized shopping experience where they can buy with confidence. From apparel, jewelry, handbags to shoes, Couture Queen prides itself on teaching women how to accentuate what they already have at any body type, with sizes ranging from 14-26 and some extended sizes available by special order. At Couture Queen, every woman is royalty and deserves to not only be treated like a queen but look like one too!
