Primary Care
Participants must be currently treated with BOTOX for CM: treated with ≥ 2 treatment cycles in the 8 months prior to Visit 2 (Day 1) with documentation of payer authorization to support continued use of BOTOX. Participants should have ability to coordinate standard-of-care BOTOX injections for Visits 2, 5, and 8 (± 7 days) through their primary care physician or another prescribing healthcare provider.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Median nerve: The median nerve crosses the wrist through a tunnel called the carpal tunnel. The median nerve provides sensation to the palm, thumb, index finger, middle finger and part of the ring finger.

Ultrasound
A Physiatrist, or what we like to call a functionologist, takes care of function. It doesn’t matter how the person has lost their function whether it is because of a sports injury or they had a heart attack, a stroke or a gunshot wound to the spinal cord and now they’re paralyzed. All these patients have lost function and the goal is to restore their function the best we can using medicine, therapy and interventions. When assessing function, different equipment may be used. For example nerves and muscles are assessed using electro diagnostic medicine and muscle and joint function using ultrasound which is a relatively new technology. Many treatment options are available both in our office and by referral. A few options our physicians may use are Botox injections, pain pumps, trigger point injections and ultrasound or EMG guided injections. MRI
We currently have an opening for an Insurance/Pre-Certification Specialist in our fast-paced orthopedic clinic. This position will be full time, Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5pm in our Overland Park office. This position is a sitting position, handling insurance authorization for imaging orders (MRI, CT, etc.) and viscosupplementation (specialty knee injection). This role will also help with surgery denials. We need someone who wants to be a part of a great team, loyal and hard working. An ideal candidate has previous pre-certification experience. I became a part of Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in August of 2008. I have always been attracted to orthopedics and upper extremity problems in particular. There’s something satisfying about the approach of taking someone who’s active, has an injury and can’t do their activities, and then helping get them back to their activities.
Sciatica
Orthopedic Surgeons specialize in treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system that includes bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, skin and structures related to them. Common injuries treated include broken bones, torn ligaments, dislocations, sprains, tendon injuries, pulled muscles, ruptured discs and sciatica as well as chronic conditions such as joint pain, back pain, arthritis and bursitis (joint inflammation).
Arthroscopy
My Orthopedic and Sports Medicine training has given me the unique experience of helping take care of high-level athletes and treating complex sports related injuries for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. Sports medicine and general orthopedics allows me the great privilege of working with active patients who aren’t ready to let an injury disrupt their dreams of athletics or an active lifestyle. I am an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopy Association of North American (AANA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) where I am also a reviewer for Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (JSES).
Ankle Surgery
While I still enjoy performing general orthopedic procedures such as total knee replacements, carpal tunnel release, and trauma; my passion is foot and ankle surgery. In particular, the treatment of complex foot and ankle reconstruction including total ankle replacements, flat foot and cavovarus deformities, as well as tendon and ligament reconstructions. As a former collegiate tennis player, I have a passion for sports injuries related to the foot and ankle. Prior to joining Kansas City Bone and Joint, I practiced north of the river at North Kansas City Hospital and St. Luke’s North – Barry Road.
Joint Replacement
I became a part of Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in August 2016, but have been in practice since 2007. After my Orthopaedic residency, I served three years active duty in the Air Force as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, deploying to Afghanistan during that time. After my military service I spent an additional year of training in joint replacement surgery, completing a Joint Replacement Fellowship with Joint Implant Surgeons in Columbus, Ohio. During this year, I assisted in performing hundreds of joint replacement surgeries.
Hand Surgery
I have a special interest in upper extremity conditions. Prior to joining our office, I completed my hand and upper extremity fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and am an active member in American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) as well as the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). I am Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery with additional specialty certification for Hand Surgery.
Orthopedic Surgery
I’ve been drawn to medicine – specifically orthopedic surgery – thanks to my lifelong enjoyment of using my hands to build and improve things and my passion for helping people. When I started my medical training, I realized I wanted to become a physician able to diagnose a problem, develop a treatment plan, and implement that plan to give my patients the best opportunity for complete recovery from their injuries.
Arthroscopy
I’ve always enjoyed being an athlete, initially playing football and swimming in high school, then continuing on to swim for Washington and Lee University in College. I completed my Medical Degree and Orthopedic Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by a Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver. Being a Kansas City Native, I greatly enjoy providing great care to the community including complex sports medicine & arthroscopy, fracture care, ligament & tendon injuries, and general orthopedics.
Hip Replacement
I met with Dr. Latteier recently for an initial appointment to discuss a hip replacement. I was very favorably impressed with his intelligence, kindness and competence. He spent a great deal of time with me discussing my condition and explaining the procedure etc. After the hip surgery, I will leave another (hopefully EXTREMELY favorable) review. Thank you.
Knee Replacement
My passion is hip and knee replacement surgery to allow patients to return to a good quality of life. I perform partial knee replacements, total knee replacements and hip replacement surgery with minimally invasive techniques including the minimally invasive (ASI-anterior supine intramuscular) direct anterior approach to the hip.

I became a part of Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in July of 2007. Before joining this wonderful group, I completed my fellowship with Joint Implant Surgeons at New Albany Surgical Hospital and Ohio State University East Hospital. I trained with Dr Lombardi and Dr Keith Berend during this time and I assisted in performing adult reconstructive surgery on over 1000 total hips and knees.

I became a part of the Kansas City Bone & Joint team in August of 1994 and am board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Prior to joining the KCBJ team, I completed my residency at the University of Kansas, School of Medicine and my sports medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University. I grew up in Iowa and earned my undergraduate degree at Iowa State University and my medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

Dr. Walker is an amazing Doctor! I had a SUPER frozen shoulder, a torn rotator cuff and two tears in my labrum. I had indescribable pain. Dr. Walker knew right off that surgery was my only option. I could not lift my arm AT ALL, but now I have 95 percent rotation of my arm/shoulder 3 months post surgery. I am so grateful to him for his care, knowledge and physical therapy suggested treatments. Physical therapy is a lot of work, but so well worth it to have movement in my arm again. Thank you:)
