Chiropractic care is growing throughout the country because people are looking for alternative methods and approaches to care. As chiropractors, we specialize in the musculoskeletal system. Our main focus are the joints, muscles, and nerves associated with the spine, but we also adjust joints throughout the entire body. Chiropractors explain that dysfunction in these joints leads to fixations and subluxations in the joints. Segmental dysfunction can also cause nerve interference which can lead to dysfunction of systems throughout the body. We work to remove nerve interference and restore proper biomechanics in the joints, which will lead to optimal function in the joint, and ultimately within the body. With a reduction in interference and proper mechanical motion in the joints, this allows the other systems of the body to function properly. This means lower risks for diseases, greater immune system function, decrease inflammation, and overall optimal health. According to the American Chiropractic Association, more than 80% of adults will experience a back problem some point in their life. Most cases of back pain are mechanical in nature. Meaning that the joint is the primary cause of pain. And that’s where our line of work as chiropractors makes such an impact. Dr. Scherina focuses on a very gentle and low-force approach to holistic healing. Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) works to transform patterns within the nervous system so that healing occurs from the inside out. NSA works by gentle pressures which are applied to specific areas of the spine based on individual needs to promote reorganizational waves within the body. This reorganization that happens within the body addresses spinal misalignments and physical stressors as well as emotional stressors and life factors all while complimenting each practice member’s innate intelligence which gives their body the ability to naturally self-heal. In addition to the education completed at Palmer, primary care physicians, Dr.’s Scherina and Dr. James are obtaining a dual diplomate in Internal Medicine and Nutrition (Diplomate of American Board of Chiropractic Internist) and (Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition). These diplomate certifications require over 300 hours of course work as well as published research papers from work experience. Dr. Scherina and Dr. James will serve with expertise in the specialty field of blood chemistry analysis and nutrition with supplementation working with focused areas of health concerns as well as systemic diseases. Most people aren’t aware of the power of natural primary care, and are excited when they find out it is available. Chiropractic Internists are trained to conduct and evaluate many primary care services such as: functional medicine, blood, saliva & urine analysis, comprehensive physical exams, EKG, spirometry, doppler, paps and pelvic exams.
