Under no circumstances would I recommend taking your pet to this facility. My husband and I have 3 small dogs who had only been boarded once before. We were going out of town and decided to send them to the Best Friends Pet Resort in Orlando at Disney World. It was very expensive for three pets, but we didn’t mind because we just wanted to have peace of mind while we traveled. We were thinking they were going to have fun at a Disney kennel and we could be gone without worrying. When we got home, we picked up the dogs who seemed very shaken up and withdrawn. We wrote this off to being new to boarding because they are admittedly pretty spoiled at home. Well it turned out much worse than that! All 3 dogs came home with kennel cough! One was so sick we had to take her to an emergency vet one evening. We took the other two the next day. After nursing them back to health for a week, I contacted Best Friends to let them know what happened. We ended up paying $360.00 for boarding and another $350.00 in vet bills. We figured being a Disney Company they would at least reimburse us for the kennel expense as a courtesy. As a business, I would want to at least pretend to be concerned and protect my reputation as somewhere that actually cares about animals more than money. No such luck. They basically said tough luck- read the contract next time because they can’t protect pets from airborne illnesses. They did say they would provide one night’s free boarding in the future for us. Are they kidding? I will lock them in the house alone before I take them back there. Terrible, Terrible. And be sure to look at what you are paying for. Most accommodations are very small- no better than a regular kennel. And a regular kennel would have a vet! Lesson learned. So disappointed this thing is connected to Disney. Don’t do it.

I'm a travel agent, and much of my business is helping families plan Disney Vacations. At the end of last week, I had a client who wanted to go on a Disney Vacation, but needed somewhere to board their three dogs. I recommended Best Friends, because they're on Disney Property. I gave the client their number, and she called to try and make a reservation for her pets on Thursday. She got no answer but got a voicemail saying that they were experiencing a high call volume, and requesting a message be left, with the promise of a call back. She left a message, but had not heard back by Friday afternoon. On Friday she and I both called the number, again went straight to voicemail, both left messages and now on Monday afternoon still have not heard back from this company.

My client has now been forced to cancel her vacation, because she has no one to care for her pets.

With such poor customer service for their human clients, I'd be very hesitant to leave my dog or cat in this facility.

I took my pet Westy to Best Friends for four days while I was at Disney. I stayed within sight of this kennel at Port Orleans and was able to visit my dog everyday. I found the employees warm and friendly and always helpful. As I said, I was across the street from Best Friends and I was able to visit my dog everyday. That being said I always found a happy dog when I went over to walk him and visit him. I believe that the care he was given there was excellent. He looked great and one day when I went to visit him there was a picture of him up on their big screen playing ball with one of the attendants. I have read some negative feedback but my experience here has been the exact opposite of what I read from the complainers.

We have left Zeke (our Yorkie ...

We have left Zeke (our Yorkie son dog) at Best Friends twice now and think this is a great place with a outstanding staff. We are welcomed as we arrive and everything is always pre-arranged before we get there. Anyone that would bring their "pet" there with fleas should have their head examined. GET RID OF THE FLEAS FIRST!! We would recommend Best Friends to oue friends anytime.

My beagle did not particularly...

My beagle did not particularly like Best Friends. She's been boarded before and had tons of fun, but I guess she was extra nervous at Disney. She stayed for 8 hours and didn't eat a thing. When she came home, she got sick multiple times. I've never seen her look so sad and sick.

When I first checked her in, I knew she had fleas. It's been an ongoing problem since I adopted her 2 months ago. The vet and the rescue both gave her medication, and I've given her several treatments (and cleaned all of her bedding multiple times). When they saw she had fleas, they looked at me like I was a bad mother and treated her like she had the plague. So they ordered a flea bath for her, which was fine by me. But I think she was put in the grooming area until the groomer came in, so she wasn't in a cozy place.

When I came to pick her up, I noticed the groomer had pulled at a little skin flap on her face and she was bleeding. I brought this up to the staff, but they just ignored me. Two weeks later, and it still bleeds.

Not a fan. I'll take my dog back to Dog Day Afternoon where she gets to play with other dogs (when she's flea-free, of course) without paying extra.

We are so disappointed to repo...

We are so disappointed to report that the Best Friends pet Care in Lake Buena Vista, Florida was just awful. The staff does not communicate with each other and therefore, anyone who works at the front desk, does not care what is going on with your dog. We brought our puppy there and were so upset to see that she had not been taken out to potty, even though we were paying extra for her to be taken out more than once. many days, she wasn't even taken out once. Although she could have "pottied" in her room, she has just recently been trained and will only potty in the grass. We told several staff members about our concern that our puppy was holding her stools for more than 24 hours. Many staff members were rude and one front desk member bluntly told us that she only worked front desk and didn't know or care about what was going on with the dogs. Although this place looks cute, you have no idea what kind of treatment your animal is getting when you leave. Their report cards are written nicely, as well as the "times" that they took the dog out or had cuddle time. However, those reports were often lied about. On more than one occasion, it was written that our puppy was taken out by a staff member, or that a staff member had cuddle time and wrote "she was so cute and playful". However, it was impossible that they had taken her out or had cuddle time at the times in which they wrote, because we were there. They just wrote random times and comments to make it look like they were paying attention to her when in fact, they were not. Please, do yourself a favor and find another place to board your loved one. This is only worth it if you can visit your pet everyday, like we did to make up for the care that they aren't receiving from the staff.
