We placed our flower order two weeks before we needed them. The main flowers that we needed didn't come in. Mr. Clark had messed up our order. Most of the rest of the flowers we did get were either completely closed and unusable to make bouquets or too old (for example, the bunches of green hypericum that we got were shriveled up and covered with black spots -- but "we gave you a discount on those"). Of course I didn't buy those. I would be out of business by putting dead looking flowers in my bouquets -- I don't care that they "discounted" the hypericum. I was obviously upset because of the flowers. I just stood in the store trying to think of how to fix this mess when Mr. Clark comes up to me and YELLS that there is "nothing at all wrong with these flowers! You've complained about these flowers and there is nothing wrong with them! I might not even sell you any flowers at all!!!! Then he pushed the two boxes of flowers onto the floor. I walked out of the business to call my partner to see what to do because we were stuck with our event being the next day. Mr. Clark didn't try to find any flowers to make up for the ones that he messed up on the order. If Mr. Clark thinks that closed flowers, brown spotted, wilted lilies, and black, shriveled up hypericums are fine to use, then he is definitely in the wrong business. He NEVER apologized for messing up my order. He yelled at me and threatened to not sell me any flowers plus he knocked the boxes off flowers onto the floor. He needs to be fired for sure. The two women working there were clearly embarrassed by his actions as was the older man who was in a side office. One of the girls followed me out to my car and apologized profusely for how Mr. Clark acted. The girl that followed me out to my car, helped me get part of my order that was acceptable and removed the dead, shriveled up flowers out of the boxes. I wouldn't have bought any but I was stuck with having to make bouquets for the weekend. Hornbuckle's inventory was wiped out for the weekend so that there were no other kind of flowers to replace the main flowers that I had ordered. My partner and I ended up buying retail flowers from several stores to make up for what Hornbuckle's (Mr. Clark) had messed up. The store needs a customer service oriented manager to replace Mr. Clark. Maybe the younger girl who helped me would make a great replacement. When you get that angry and don't care whether your customers are happy, it is time to go. We will not be doing business with them again.
