It all began in 1984 when Robert Ray became taken with bowed string instruments, particular by the history, art, and tradition of French bow-making. After years of apprenticing, traveling, studying and practicing his craft, Robert decided to open his own shop. The violin shop opened in Olympia in 1999 and we proudly continue to bring world-renowned expertise to our local community. As a local shop, we take great pride in supporting our local musical community. As international dealers, we take equal pride in our professional insight and understanding of the art and tradition which we strive to preserve. Our mission is to support and enlighten your musical journey - from beginning students to professional players, you don't need an excuse to enjoy the best that the string world has to offer!
