We are set up a little different from most Campgrounds on the North Beach. We have green, spacious, grassy areas to camp, trees, in a park like setting. Walk, drive, or ride your horse from you campsite to the beach! We are the closet camp and RV to the beach! We offer secluded river sites, open sites, camp next to your horse, new horse corrals, remodeled bathrooms with free showers, firewood, and a small store. All our sites have fire pits and picnic benches. We are less the 5 minutes to the Casino and Ocean Shores, yet a world apart!

Overall

The Screaming Eagle is a wonderful place to stay. I've stayed twice and have had two awesome experiences. The owner is very hands on. He's always making sure that everyone has what they need. The camp site is very clean. The bathrooms are spotless. I'd be camping there this weekend if they weren't booked up.

After reading disturbing early reviews we were skeptical of coming here but we were WRONG.....Its the only place you can actually ride your horse to the beach, quiet, family orientated beautiful CLEAN..well maintained. The new owner is great!!! Very friendly laid back and willing to accommodate your needs. I wouldn't camp anywhere else on the Coast. So much to do so many things to explore, we hardly saw our children. If i had to complain id say the bathroom water could of been hotter but its not a problem when you have an RV. We will be coming here time after time. Screaming Eagle we loved our visit - THANK YOU.

The campground needs a lot of ...

The campground needs a lot of TLC. We camped with our horses and there is nothing about this place that is setup for horses. Corrals are falling apart and dangerous, and highline area is overgrown. Hoses leak and are placed in dangerous locations for horses. (There is a reason there are no photos of horse accommodations on the website) The campground does have a wheel barrel and supplies to clean up after the horses.

The owner WAY overbooked the weekend with too many horses. Some of the other campers had aggressive horses that sure put a damper on the weekend. We also cleaned up the corral areas and found broken glass, screws and other random garbage that could have easily been cleaned up before we arrived.

If you do decide to risk camping here with your horses bring fence repair supplies as a majority of the time we spent at camp was repairing fences. We even had to go buy our own nails! The owners did not help nor make any attempt to reconcile the situation.

Roads in the campground are poor with large pot holes, however there is plenty of space for trucks and trailers to park comfortably and still fit in tents/campfire. etc.

If you are tent camping this place would be perfect as it is close to the beach and they do have decent bathrooms and showers. The showers are gross, wear flip flops. (The showers were the only thing that had hot water.) There is only ONE RV hookup and that spot is next to the bathrooms. Plenty of campers had dogs and the leash rules were not enforced.

You can buy some nicely dried out wood for campfires for $10 a wheel barrel full otherwise I would recommend bringing your own.

We visit the Ocean Shores area often and have stayed at most Campgrounds out there, one time or another.

The Screamin Eagle is absolutely the best! The people that operate the place are friendly and fun, they visit with you and the office is like a meeting place. They make you feel like you belong there! The owner is very knowledgeable about the area and history.

It is a Clean, Safe place to stay, close to the beach, nice property. Why would we any place else?
