Easy Life Furniture-Northridge

I purchased 2 of their Berkaline recliners 2/11/2010 and on 3/11/2010 I noticed a problem with the back rest on one of the couchs. I remembered the salesmens claims that if I had any problems they would send a tech out to examine and repair or replace the defect part, so I called them. When I spoke with the manager he said that the coporate office said no problem as long as I paid $70.00 for the tech to come to my house. I questioned him and read him the statement in the warranty that shipping,labor and handling are covered for 1 year. I was then told that since I chose the "pick up" option and paid no delivery fees that I would have to pay the charges. No one ever stated that at the time of purchase and it is not stated on any paperwork or in the warranty. I then called the coporate office to speak with the customer service manager Linda Theis and left meassages for 5 days without one returned call. I finally called the store again and spoke with the manager who finally contacted the customer supervisor Linda Theis who told him to relay the same message, I must pay the $70.00 fee. Basically don't buy into their warranty claims. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and hope to get some resolution to my $2,000 purchase. SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!
