Hodges Optical

Try to explain this one Hodges? Let me start with my safety glasses (frame and lenses) that were purchased at the office on my work site back in 2012. After the order was placed I was told to come back in a couple of weeks and they should be in. I had to go back 4 times within a 2 month period and still did not have them. The lady who works on site finally said that they would be left at the store when they came in so after a week or so I went into the store and was told ”Oh, I thought you wanted me to take them to the work site”. After 4 or so months of waiting for these I finally got them. The next set was a pair of prescription sunglasses I purchased back in July 2014 (First of two glasses allowed under benefits). They were ordered and billed to insurance in July but I did not receive them until December. I am not sure why it takes so long to get glasses as I have used Pearle Vision and had glasses back in 2 weeks. Anyway, after my eye exam in February 2015 I wanted to purchase one more set of prescription sunglasses but was told by my doctor’s office I did not have any benefits left. I called Hodges and they told me I purchased a pair of safety glasses that perfectly matched the same glasses I purchased in 2012. I disputed the charge and they realized that there was a mistake and would reverse the charge back to VSP. I called VSP to find out about the reversal of my glasses and it never happened. I have talked to numerous people on my work site and they have all had a terrible experience with this place.



One more thing, if they are our onsite provider why are they NOT in network? From what VSP told me they charge as an out of network provider (20% more than what in network would be). How can that be?

No contacts since May, 2014

No one is ever in the office no matter what time of day you go.

Main office or 'Susan' could care less either.

They even ignored calls and letters from Better Businesa Bureau.

Stay far away!!

I LOVE Hodges optical! They worked with my insurance to get me two free pairs of glasses and had a great selection of frames! the staff is exremely helpful and friendly. The people that complain of price probably have no insurance. You can go to wal mart but hodges has better quality and unique frames and lenses. Also great for perscription sunglasses and work safety glasses! I wont go anywhere else!

Dropped off very nice frames to get new lens and they said it would take a week. It is now over a month later and no glasses. In fact, I said just give me back my frames even if you haven't put in the new lens and they won't. They said they are at another store and then they said they are at the lab. i said just tell me where this store or lab is and I will go get them but then they said they don't know where MY frames are! Hodges keeps blaming another Hodges store but they both have the same owner! They are inept and disorganized. STAY AWAY!

I'm never going to Hodges Optical again! Wal-mart and other eye glasses places are much better than them. There glasses are way too high, when I was referred there because of my insurance, the lady that help me was so sweet/nice and told me when my glasses came back a case was comn with it but it didnt! Those triflin people wanted me to pay for a case, and the case suppose to come with it. I will never go there again, or will I recommend anyone to go there either. And there glasses are extremely high between $80-$270. Go some where else to get glasses not here...Lord knows not here! NEVER AGAIN! They seem very racists!
