- Kent State University at Stark was founded in 1946 and has been serving Stark County and the surrounding area for over 60 years. As Stark County's only public university, Kent State Stark plays a vital role in generating a more educated workforce, attracting and retaining qualified individuals to the area and contributing to the positive economic development of the region. Kent State Stark is located on 200 beautiful acres in Jackson Township, just five minutes from the Akron-Canton Airport and easily accessible from I-77. Kent State University at Stark combines the best of a major university and a liberal arts college, offering baccalaureate, master's and associate degrees. Kent State Stark serves our region as a key intellectual resource providing open access to academic, economic and cultural advancement through excellence in teaching and learning.Kent State Stark offers 16 bachelor's degrees, two master's degrees and three associate degrees. The campus offers the core courses for Kent State's 218 undergraduate choices of study.Kent State Stark serves 11,000 students each year, comprised of 6,300 enrolled in academic coursework and 4,700 enrolled in professional development courses. In addition, over 200 high school students from the Stark County area take advantage of the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option and other pre-college programs.

Kent State University at Stark is an excellent university. While being a smaller campus, there are always improvements being made to ensure that its students are getting the best possible education. From experience, every time I need help in a course, my professors have always been more than willing to sit down and help me both inside and outside of the classroom. I absolutely love the smaller class sizes (especially honors classes) because I enjoy participating in classroom discussions and I know I'm not just a number. Also, the campus is always really pretty here regardless of what season we are in... and I think that alone really brightens the mood on this campus!
