V Nails

I have been a regular customer at this salon since 2012. Until today, I have always had average-to-good experiences.



I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and shellac manicure on my Monday holiday off from work. One technician (who regularly wears glasses) seated me and placed my feet in a tub of tepid-cool water. She began to set up for my pedicure and wrapped my fingertips in acetone-soaked cotton swabs and tin foil-- to loosen the shellac already on my fingernails. As two women arrived, she abandoned my chair and told me that someone else would see me in five minutes. She immediately seated the other two women and got to work on their feet instead.



Fifteen minutes later, I was greeted by another technician who I have often seen in the salon. She typically wears mens' clothing. She apologized for my wait and resumed my pedicure. As another woman arrived, she asked if I was busy and could wait 15 minutes, because "she is a regular". I thought she was surely joking, as I had been sitting with my feet in the tub for 45 minutes. Despite my vocalizations that no, I would like my pedi/mani to be completed and I needed to leave at 12:30, I was left sitting while she began the other customer's manicure. By the time she returned to my chair (12:00pm), my fingertips had been soaked in acetone for one hour. The skin was gray, peeling, and "pruned" in appearance.



She hastily rubbed oil on my calves for 30 seconds and applied two sloppy coats of polish to my toenails. She then began my manicure, and proceeded to laugh at me for being upset. I was on the verge of tears due to disrespect and frustration at this point. I received several half-hearted "uh, sorry" responses as it came time for me to pay my check (and tip), although she did finish promptly at 12:30. I did not feel that I should have been charged full-price for today's services, but I did not want to have a confrontation.



The polish turned out uneven and "splotchy", similar to the attempts of an 8-year-old child; it remains on my skin around my nails. My fingertips are dry and tender to touch. I called the store to see if my nails could be re-painted. Thuy answered the phone and claimed that management would not be back for two weeks when I asked to speak with them. She also claimed that the owner would be back in two weeks. She refused to provide any name or number to contact. I then explained to her that I had a bad experience this morning and I was hoping to have my nails re-painted. She stated "You have to call back later" and hung up on me.



In summary, I had always had adequate experiences at this salon, but I am shocked and disappointed by today's visit. I was abandoned twice, while my fingers soaked in acetone for one hour. To add insult to literal injury, I was openly laughed at for becoming upset. Furthermore, it is unclear whether this establishment even has any sort of management system to resolve complaints with. I would not be surprised if several health code violations occur here. You may have favorable results during most visits, but do not expect to be treated with any dignity, respect, or be provided with any resolution if you are unhappy with services received.

This is the only place I go to get all of my waxes done. I am a regular and as soon as I walk in they immediately ask me how me and my boyfriend are doing. They are honestly the sweetest people. I would definitely recommend them.
