DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Rather than recount the lengthy and absolutely ridiculous merry-go-round experience with Charter customer service, I will simply state that I am canceling my long-time tv and internet service and switching to Direct TV due to receiving no assistance whatsoever when my service was interrupted and the Charter agents had no explanation for it. I was totally disgusted by the unintelligent, uninformed and unexperienced customer service agents I had the extreme misfortune to speak with. They each had different stories and could offer absolutely no assistance, other than repeating over and over the same canned phrases. Apparently, Charter has no problem gouging their customers with higher and higher prices, while at the same time shipping their customer service depts. overseas to people who cannot speak English, and certainly do not deserve US jobs, all at the extreme expense of their customer base.



The FCC should shut this company down, they are that bad!



I am sure as competition increases, they will meet their end, and deservedly so.

video problems

This site seemed to have it all. It listes all the videos that you can see for information. However, after 27 minutes in this site not one of the 4 videos I tried would play. Please fix this so I can come back and try you again!

They're prices are high for the services they provide.



The customer service department is not that great either. Not very helpful and all. They were not kind or helpful to deal with at all.



I wouldn't recommend this company for services. If you have any other choice I would go elsewhere.



It's time for another price increase I'm sure.

Worst company around for phone

If you are looking for a phone co. read the other reviews and make your own determination based on the biggest drawback. They are not a phone co and therefore they should not be offering phone service. They are good at cable TV and that is it, they should stick with what they are good at. This co is misleading and they lead you astray. If you sign up with them based on the price then get their service, you will find your phone will not work like your old phone co and you will not be happy. Their phone does not work if the power is out and they are lousy in the service end of the deal. When you cancel your service with them they do not release your phone number and that means your new phone company cannot give you your old number back. They are not regulated and therefore they get to make what ever rules they want on anything. If you want my advice, ���stick with ATT, you will at least get what you pay for, and your phone will work���.

Awful Cable Company

This is the worst time I have EVER had with any cable company! The customer service team there are not helpful...you ask them a question and they dont know anymore then you do!!!And I think out of the 4395837 times I had to call them I got 2 nice customer service reps the rest were rude! I sent in payments on time each month and I can remember a total of 3 times they disconnected my cable bc the payment had not been entered into there system yet! They are priced ridiculously, I was paying $230 a MONTH for just cable and phone!When I signed up my bill was quoted at $135 so the prices went up like every week without notifying the customers! It was just a BAD experince all together and I would never recommend them to my worst enemy! i switched to DirecTV there great very nice and helpful and good prices!

This company was awful to deal with. The customer service associates gave misinformation as a rule, the service technicians routinely missed appointments or rescheduled them with notifying me, and they have yet to live up to their agreement to refund 100% of the money I paid for their service. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and hopefully I will get good resluts. I wouldn't get Charter again, even if they were the last cable company in my area!!

horrible service

I just want to start this by saying that I am a patient person. When I move to Florissant in September we arranged to have my service switched the weekend of the 10th. They did not show and had apparently rescheduled my appointment to the following weekend without any notification. A week and a half after they finally do get it installed my cable quits working and take about 4 days to get service out to my house again. When they show up it turns out that someone else in my neighborhood had their service canceled and since the connections were all unmarked they just disconnected one, which happened to be mine.



A charter salesman calls on the November 25th offering me a very nice bundle deal so I forget the past problems and decided to take it. We arrange to have installation on November 3rd between 1-5 because changing phone carriers has to be done during the week according to them. I take a vacation day so I can be here (this is my last one for the year btw). I don't call them until 4:45 since the last 2 times they came it was at the very end of the time window. When I call customer service tells me that I am scheduled for the 7th between 8-10. After explaining to them that I���m not stupid and did not get these dates and times confused the rep actually said that the sales person was only worried about the sale and most likely didn't check to see if the time was available. So I guess charter is fine with the old bait and switch, thinking that I will be fine with taking another day off to get their crappy service. The only thing the customer service reps could say was sorry even when I canceled to appointment and the new services I was buying. This is by and far the worst company I have ever dealt with. When they are going to be held accountable for their incredibly poor service? Please do yourself a favor and use any company but them. Personally I am going to look into AT&T satellite for the first time just so I never have to deal with them again.

hey everyone who cannot talk to a live person

Just hit the button that says you want to disconnect and it'll connect you right away to a live person..LOL..Just tried it and it worked. Also I like thier service, but prices can be high.

Good product, but expensive with severe spam problems

I like my charter cable and internet service - it's pretty reliable.

I don't like their phone maze - and the problem with spam is awful.

Spam problem causes local college - Northern Michigan University - to block all email - even friendly email.

I forward all spam problems to abuse@charter.net

But I often wonder if anything gets done.

Also - extremely expensive services - but at least its reliable.

I have had Charter for about 4 months. We got a good deal on our bundle pricing but the services go out so often. The customer service is also terrible and they do not help in the least.

Bad Customer Service

One would think that Charter would stay open past 5pm to assist 99% of there customers that work and cant make it in untill after 5pm. I am also tired of talking to Bob in India about reseting my cable box. Hurry up AT&T!!!

Install problems

I signed up for Charter and I have now had a service tech at my house on 4 different occasions to fix problems. I've gone through 3 HD boxes and 3 service interuptions due to errors from the company. They still don't haven't sent me a correct bill. I'm stuck with them as I don't have line of sight for satellite service. Come on AT&T and get us U-verse here!

Bad Customer Service

Tried to get internet thru this provider. First appointment tech was unable to complete install. Wanted me to wait another week and would only set an appointment between 8 and 5. Expecting me to miss another whole day of work. Would not work with me on shortening the time to 1/2 day, so chose not to get their service.

NEVER GET SERVICE HERE

Thier service is terrible. I get dissconnected every 15 MINUTES and I have to continually rewrite emails because my service keeps dropping off as soon as I push send. Unfortunatly this is the only company available to us out here, so we are stuck with this horrible service. THANKS FOR NOTHING CHARTER!!!!!

Worst Service Ever !

Charter has the Worst Service Ever! I am stuck with it because no other cable company services my area. They increase their prices ever so often. Can you imagine paying $70/- just for internet??? I'm switching to DSL!

World's Worst

I've been with Charter since they landed in our area and of course, we have no alternative if cable is our need for an isp. It seems every 2-3 months their prices go up an additonal dollar or two, usually 2, (combination cable tv with limited movies, and internet service is up to $139 and change)and the internet service gets slower and much worse. They'll tell you to get a better package deal from them then down the line, that choice is just as bad as the original one you had. If you want faster access, then again you have to pay more money. My access is out frequently and it upsets me a lot but again, I don't have access to DSL nor is there a competitive option since Charter is a monopoly in this area. So far, the TV aspect usually works but I'm still checking around for better options. I wish we had a choice in cable isp's. I'd try Road Runner. My family is pleased with them in other parts of the country.
