Overall

Horrible horrible horrible that's all I can say. Will never let these people on my property again. Read reviews on other sites and they were all bad but they are who my home warranty has. I had another problem and they assigned me these guys I told them hell no don't send these guys again. They thankfully gave me someone else. I now have Knicks and scratches in my wall from them because they couldn't even carry there ladder without hitting my walls. Horrible horrible horrible

This place SUCKS!! Like most of the other reviewers, if i could give 0 stars, i would. I would even go so far as to give negative stars. Here's MY drama: I have American Home Sheild Insurance. If ANY appliance ion my home breaks, you call the insurance place and they send out the appropirate "Mr. Fix-it." You pay a $60 fee and you get your appliance fixed. My water heater broke on a Friday afternoon. I called AHS and they set upi an appt. for Duval to come out and fix it, between 8-12 on that Monday (two days later). Monday rolls around and i am sitting at my house waiting for the guy to show. At 1:30 i hadto call Duval to see where the guy was and I got no answer for 3 hours. Finally at 4:30 he shows up. He then gets on the phone with his company who then proceeds to tell me that it is going to cost an ADDITIONAL $350. When i asked why do i need to pay the extra $350 i was told that it was for "parts and labor." I gave the technition a check for $410 and was told that someone would be calling me the following day to set up a second appt. to replace my water heater. The next day (Tuesday) around 2p.m. I had to call AGAIN to see when they were coming and was told that they coulndt get the replacement "parts" until between 8-12 Thursday. 1:45 Thursday comes, and no tech. So yet AGAIN I called to see where they were and the girl on the phone (who was EXTREMLY rude) said that there was a work order put in and the tech must have run into traffic and that he would be there as soon as he could. When the tech FINALLY arrived, it took him 20 mins to replace the unit then he was gone. I called my home warrenty people and they informed me that they ALSO had to pay Duval $350 for the work they did to my home. I would NEVER recomend these people to my worst enemy. They ARE crooks and the quality of "work" sucks. If i could add a photo of how they left my water heater when they left, I would. DO NOT USE DUVAL HEATING,AC,& PLUMBING. PERIOD!!

Since I had to give this company a rating I gave it 1 star, wish I could have given it -10 stars!! They are crooks. They were sent out by my home warranty company when my AC stopped cooling. for $100 They came out and said my coils were dirty and that was the problem. He cleaned them off and it was better! for 2 weeks. I called again and they sent them out and for another $100 it was decided that my air handler was plugged up in the attic needed cleared out. That worked! for 3 days. It was then decided for another $100 that my air handler needed replaced....Which meant that I needed duct work and a new drain pain... both of which are not covered by my warranty. By this time I have already fussed at my warranty company and they refunded $200, which was fine, but then I get the quote for my non covered services. $650! UGH! The handler takes 2 weeks to come in and when it does they come out, rip out the old one and then they decide that the new one WONT FIT! Seriously??? You didnt measure first????? I tell them to make it work, but they wouldnt and said they would have to send out carpenter to remove a beam and that it was gonna cost me $250. By this time i was irate and yelling foul words. I mean it 4000 degrees in Virginia in the middle of june and on to July! I get my neighbor who is a carpenter to fix the beam and call them to tell them it will fit, and they wont come back because they moved on to another job... in 15 mins. Finally come back the next day to install and all is well, except for i look at their work and dont see any new duct work, only new tape sealing old ducts, I question and I am told it was replaced... BS!!! I pay them and they tell me "your outdoor unit is the next to go" I look at them like WTF? I asked how long, and was told "uhmmm could be 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 years we have no way of knowing" By now im ticked, hot, and cranky. I deal with it, not before I call Duval in the a.m. to complain about my $650 freaking duct tape. No answers, nothing. No returns, nada. My warranty company is well aware of everything going on, but unfortunately there is nothing they could do. A couple days pass... and I hear a loud pop and find my less than 10 year old outdoor unit SMOKING!!!! Remember when they told me it could be 2 days?? Well that's all it took. I was furious!! My compressor blew, and I was done with duval, as I feel as if my unit was sabotaged. I had a friend of a friend come look at it, and turns out my compressor blew, but luckily it was under warranty from manufacturer. 2 days later I got it fixed for a few bucks from a friend of a friend. So far so good a year later. I will NEVER recommend this crook of a company to anyone. They rip you off and steal from you. Numerous messages left with everyone in that company including Mr. Duval himself. Not one was returned. I never got my money back for my duct tape, have contacted BBB, and tell anyone who will listen about this company. I just feel terrible that people still contact them and use them for services. Its a shame really!

They said my air conditioner w...

They said my air conditioner was not working because of the blower motor. It took them 3 days to get the new motor in. They came and installed it yesterday (6/27/12) in the morning. AC was working after they left and I went back to work. I got home at 5 and the AC was not working. (Duval closes at 4:30) A different company came out today. They showed me my "new" blower motor. It was not new. It had never been replaced. These people are crooks.

Horrible...wish my home warran...

Horrible...wish my home warranty company could experience what i have and they'd stop using them! Its been two months without A/C because of this worthless company. Customer service is bad, YOU WORK AROUND THERE SCHEDULE. Oh and my A/C is still not fixed. I'm going to make it my personnel goal to make it that my home warranty company never uses this company again.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY!! This company was sent out by my home warranty company for an emergency call. We had a pipe to burst and had to shut the water off due to this. Tech came check for leak, received payment and said he will be back on next moring to fix. In morning called by Duval to state they would not be out until Sunday between 8-1. This happened on Wednesday and we are suppose to go without water until then. They literally stated they "were doing us a favor" because they do not work over weekend. Supervisor had the nerve to argue with me about this being an emergency!! Call warranty company they sent out another company!

This Company is a joke and am ...

This Company is a joke and am spreading the word to all of my friends, companies and anyone I see on the street. I have also let my warranty company know that we do not want them to ever be sent out to our house. We had an A/C problem in 2011 during the hottest part of the summer and it took over 2 weeks for the part to come in. It was in the triple digits during that time. Guess they do not know about FedEx or any other kind of mail service that has next day. Then had them come back out because our water heater had water running from the bottom and making a river in our garage. They came and of course had to order the part, then came back and fixed it. NOT. That was not even the problem and probably replaced a perfectly good part. Then I called the warranty again and they came back out and tore a whole in the wall to the cold water pipe even though I told the plumber that it was warm water now running out of the back of my siding outside in the yard! Anyway he left had to pay another guy to come and move the water heater so that they could get to the wall, you know they are not plumbers and can't do that themselves, then the 3rd guy came back to my house w/ an attitude from the start because it was after hours and would not wait 15 minutes for my plumber to come back with a part. So when he told me that I used the F word and he left and ended up having my own guy fix it. They do not have any customer service, they do not care about their clients and they have the most awful uneducated plumbers in the world working for them. I am also writting to the BBB and going to take them to court since for 3 weeks after they supposedly fixed it, hot water ran and leaked into my walls and insulation causing black mold and GOD knows how much my water bill will be. I love our Warranty company and expressed to them the problems and also gave them SEVERAL links you can get to and see what horrible service they have done. I know for a fact that the good reviews are them writting them but again they are not very bright so think they are getting away with it. This company should be shut down and have to pay for extended physical damage to peoples homes due to their ignorance! I have never been so upset with a company. This is the 1st time I have ever had to do something like this. Shame on Duval Heating Air Conditioning and Plumbing.

Never fixed it

My family has used Duval frequently as we are contracted with American Home Warranty. They came to fix my air conditioner approximately every other month. They did come out to try fix problems in a timely manner. However, the problems have never been corrected. Duval is a worthless company and workers do not appear to have any repair knowledge or skills..They are sloppy and don't finish their job. Maybe a temporary "band aid" at best..I have water damage from problems created by Duval. This secondary damage is not covered by my home warranty company. I'm left with a continuous mess and the unit still does not work properly. Now my warranty company informs me that I have exceeded the repair cap..

Horrible Company

Do not use this company if you can help it. I wish I had read the other reviews first. They were supposed to replace a component of our air conditioning. The price quoted was $350. When they got to my house, they doubled the price. I called the corporate office to complain, and was basically told that I had two choices: pay the extra money, or the technicians would leave (with my unit all taken apart). These people are crooks.

Awful Company!

This company is awful. You seldom get a human voice when you call DuVal, only voice mail. They make dates for service calls then break them. They called on a Wednesday morning and informed me that a technician to fix my A/C would come to the house Thursday afternoon, so I took off work that Thursday. Then late Thursday morning they left a voicemail saying the would have to reschedule until the following Monday. The number they left as a return call number was, yes, a voicemail. This is the second time that my warranty company -- Sensible Warranty -- has saddled my family with this company. If they do so again, we'll look for a new Warranty company. Stay away from DuVal.

Avoid this company

This company is the worst. I had to take two full days off so they could fix a small leak under my sink. The first day they showed up an hour and half late (they said they'd arrive between 12-5pm, and he arrived at 6:30pm). He gets there and says he doesn't have any parts in his van! What kind of plumber doesn't keep a supply of common PVC parts? So he had to reschedule it. Only he said they'd call me the next day. They never did, so I had to call three days later to reschedule . I took another full day off because they said they'd arrive between 12-5pm. They never showed up, AT ALL. I called some guy who sounds important and yell a little, and he tells me he makes $150 an hour and hangs up on me. So the math equals two full days off, a $60 fee for the first visit, dinner for the family for both visits (because I didn't wanna start cooking only to have the plumber show up), and I still have a leaky sink.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

I had horrible service, I had to cancel their service. They never showed up for the appointment, and then the manager got an attitude when I asked when they were going to show up. I had to cancel and call a different company. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
