Barnes Towing & Recovery

My experience with Barnes has been outstanding. It ha s been the best repair shop I have ever used. They are very honest and care about their customers. There prices are very competitive and in my experience Barnes always did the job right the 1st time. I am a customer for life. You really should give them a chance.

Avoid using Barnes Towing at all costs. There are other reputable towing services that are available at nearly half the cost. A recent mechanical breakdown that occurred only 3 miles from the Barnes facility in New Windsor, resulted in various towing (understandable), admin, per mile and storage fees. The car was in Barnes possession for approx 24 hours and incurred $300 in total fees - $150 to tow the car (basically explained by the company representative was because the police called in the tow request and that there was additional paperwork required for that - When I called the Sherriff's department, they explained that unless they are requesting the car to be impounded for illegal actions or activities, that there is absolutely no paperwork required by the police department. It is a service that they offer the owner to help assist traffic congestion) $50 per day storage fee (explained that it is calculated as calendar days - meaning if your car was picked up at 5:00 pm today and picked up at 8:00 am tomorrow, you would be charged for 2 days) and $5 per mile. Then in addition, they add in what they call an "Admin" fee of $60. They decided to reduce the admin fee to $35 - Still at the end of the day, I have never been assaulted with so many various fees for having a car towed. One look at the empty lot and no cars in the garage bays and it's no wonder why this business probably doesn't do anything but towing and as their website overly promotes - repossession services.
